Job Description:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive individual to join our team as a Proxy Support Specialist. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the health, availability, and optimal performance of our proxy infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have expertise in health checks, monitoring, configuration changes, troubleshooting, user reconciliation, and policy management related to proxy servers.
Responsibilities:
Health Check, Monitoring, and Availability Report:
• Conduct regular health checks and performance monitoring of the proxy infrastructure to ensure its optimal operation.
• Generate availability reports detailing uptime, downtime, and performance metrics to assess the overall health of the proxy environment.
Configuration Changes and URL Whitelisting:
• Implement configuration changes as required to optimize proxy performance and meet organizational requirements.
• Manage URL whitelisting and blacklisting to control access to websites and ensure compliance with security policies.
URL / Website Troubleshooting:
• Investigate and troubleshoot issues related to URL or website access, ensuring timely resolution to minimize disruption to end-users.
• Collaborate with relevant teams to address underlying issues affecting website accessibility through the proxy.
User Reconciliation Review:
• Review and reconcile user access to the proxy, ensuring alignment with organizational policies and access controls.
• Monitor user activity logs to identify unauthorized access attempts or policy violations.
Configuration of Policies and Review:
• Configure and manage proxy policies to enforce security controls, content filtering, and access rules.
• Regularly review and update policies to adapt to changing security requirements and emerging threats.
Essential Skills:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Proxy Administrator (CPA) are advantageous.
• Proven experience in supporting and administering proxy servers in enterprise environments.
• Deep understanding of proxy technologies, protocols, and best practices, including HTTP, HTTPS, SSL decryption, and content filtering.
• Experience with proxy management tools and utilities for configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex proxy-related issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proactive attitude towards learning and staying updated with the latest developments in proxy technologies and security trends. |
