Role Overview

A Guidewire Business Center Consultant works with Guidewire BusinessCenter, a component of the Guidewire InsuranceSuite, to manage administrative functions, user roles, security, and operational configurations for insurance applications like PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, and BillingCenter.


Key Responsibilities

  • Configure and manage administrative settings in Guidewire Business Center
  • Handle user management:
    • User creation, roles, and permissions
    • Access control and security policies
  • Maintain organizational structures:
    • Regions, groups, and hierarchies
  • Configure producer codes, authority profiles, and business rules
  • Support integration with core systems:
    • Guidewire PolicyCenter
    • Guidewire ClaimCenter
    • Guidewire BillingCenter
  • Troubleshoot issues related to user access and system configuration
  • Assist in deployments, upgrades, and environment management
  • Work with business stakeholders to implement organizational changes
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements

Required Skills

  • Experience with Guidewire InsuranceSuite, especially Business Center
  • Strong understanding of:
    • User roles and security models
    • Organizational structures in insurance systems
  • Basic knowledge of Guidewire architecture
  • Familiarity with:
    • Gosu (basic level)
    • XML configurations
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to support production issues

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
  • 2–5+ years of experience in Guidewire (GWBC or InsuranceSuite)

Good-to-Have

  • Experience in P&C (Property & Casualty) insurance domain
  • Exposure to Guidewire Cloud Platform
  • Knowledge of integrations and APIs
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum environments
