SAP BW/HANA Consultant – Job Description
Role Overview
An SAP BW/HANA Consultant works with SAP Business Warehouse on SAP HANA to design, develop, and manage enterprise data warehousing and reporting solutions, enabling real-time analytics and business insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop data models in SAP BW on HANA
- Create and manage:
- InfoObjects, InfoProviders (ADSOs, Composite Providers)
- DataSources and transformations
- DTPs (Data Transfer Processes)
- Build and optimize data flows and ETL processes
- Develop reports using:
- SAP BusinessObjects
- SAP Analytics Cloud
- Perform data extraction from:
- SAP S/4HANA
- SAP ECC
- Non-SAP systems
- Optimize performance using HANA features (pushdown, calculation views)
- Monitor data loads and resolve issues
- Implement data security and authorization concepts
- Participate in system upgrades, migrations (e.g., BW to BW/4HANA)
- Collaborate with business teams to understand reporting need
