L1 NETWORKING ENGINEER for NOC (24*7 Shift)

Key skills/Profile
• 3-4 years of Networking Operations Experience in Switching and routing domain.
• Core knowledge of Ethernet, IP routing, and switching fundamentals on Arista gear and familiar with modern network concepts.
• Basic hands-on familiarity with device setup and configuration (interfaces, VLANs, port channels, etc.), spanning Tree Protocol (STP), link aggregation (LACP).
• Exposure to leaf-spine architecture.
• Able to perform basic device configuration and troubleshooting on switches. This includes initial switch setup, configuring VLANs and trunks, setting up switchport parameters, and basic IP addressing. Can follow standard network implementation playbooks/runbooks under supervision.
• Familiar with common network troubleshooting tools and commands – e.g. using ping, traceroute, checking interface status, viewing logs – to identify connectivity issues.
• Has a conceptual understanding of technologies like MLAG (Multi-Chassis Link Aggregation) and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP at a high level)
• Able to collect relevant information (show command outputs, log snippets) for senior engineers when escalating issues.
• Should handle routine tasks in a stable network and assist in larger implementations with guidance.
• Demonstrates a willingness to learn and follows instructions diligently. Communicates effectively within the team – can document basic changes or issues and escalate problems clearly.
• Good interpersonal skills, for effective communication with business and technical teams.
• Day to Day task can include - Daily baseline monitoring of Arista installed base, On-Going Ticket Management, call Closures, Creating MIS and Routine Reports, Coordination with TAC for status on open cases
• Reporting of activities as per agreed format and frequency Daily/Weekly/Monthly
• Shift based role to cover 24x7x365 days.
• Should be comfortable working in shifts and coordinating with all stakeholders for troubleshooting and reporting.
• Exposure and experience on Arista gear and modules – EOS, CVP, CLI will have added advantage.
