Junior QA Engineer (automation)

Responsibilities

As a Junior QA Engineer (Automation-Focused), you will contribute to building reliable products by combining strong testing fundamentals with early automation ownership.
Write and execute test cases across web and mobile applications
Build and maintain automated test scripts for UI and APIs
Identify, document, and track bugs with clear debugging details
Work closely with developers to understand features and edge cases
Contribute to regression automation to reduce manual testing over time
Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and release cycles
Learn and apply best practices in test automation and quality engineering
Gradually take ownership of test coverage for specific modules

Requirements

1+ year of experience in QA (including internships), with **hands-on automation exposure**
Working knowledge of at least one programming language (Java / Python preferred)
Practical experience with automation tools like Selenium, Appium, Playwright, or similar
Basic understanding of API testing (Postman, REST concepts)
Strong logical thinking and debugging skills
Comfortable reading code and understanding backend flows
High ownership mindset and willingness to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
