Production Manager
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Production Manager to oversee and manage the end-to-end production operations. The role will be responsible for Production Planning & Control (PPC), Production, Stores & Inventory, Maintenance, and Quality Assurance to ensure smooth operations, timely delivery, cost efficiency, and adherence to quality standards.
The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to coordinate across multiple functions and drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement production plans and schedules in coordination with PPC to ensure timely order fulfillment.
- Supervise day-to-day production operations, ensuring optimum utilization of manpower, machines, and materials.
- Coordinate with the Stores & Warehouse team to ensure timely availability of raw materials and efficient inventory control.
- Monitor and enforce quality standards across all stages of production in collaboration with the Quality Department.
- Implement and oversee process improvements, lean manufacturing, and cost optimization measures.
- Track and review production KPIs (efficiency, rejection rates, downtime, delivery timelines, etc.) and take corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with safety, statutory, health, and environmental regulations.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to team members across PPC, Production, Stores, Maintenance, and Quality.
- Liaise with senior management to provide regular updates on production status, challenges, and improvement plans.
- Manage and supervise the maintenance team to ensure all equipment and machinery are in optimal working condition.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and procedures.
- Monitor production processes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Manage inventory of raw materials and spare parts to avoid disruptions.
- Prepare and present reports on production performance, quality, and maintenance activities.
- Train and develop production, maintenance, and quality staff to enhance capability and performance.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering or related field.
- 8-12 years of experience in manufacturing/production management with exposure to PPC, Stores, Maintenance, and Quality functions.
- Proven track record in managing cross-functional teams.
- Strong knowledge of production planning, inventory control, and quality management systems (QMS).
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, or 5S practices.
- Excellent leadership, decision-making, and team-handling abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on results.
- Proficiency in SAP and G-Suite.
Preferred Skills
- Master's degree / MBA in Operations / Supply Chain Management.
- Experience in stationery, FMCG, or related manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 / other ISO standards and audit compliance.
- Exposure to automation, modern production techniques, and digital manufacturing tools.
- Ability to drive continuous improvement and cost optimization projects.
