About The Job:
- We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Engineer with deep expertise in Linux systems administration, VMware virtualization, and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- This role is critical in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust, secure, and scalable infrastructure solutions across on-premises and cloud environments.
Essential Job Functions:
Linux & VMware Infrastructure:
- Administer and maintain Linux systems (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) in enterprise environments.
- Manage VMware vSphere environments including ESXi hosts, vCenter, and vSAN.
- Perform system upgrades, patching, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery strategies.
- Automate routine tasks using shell scripting, Ansible, or similar tools.
- Design and deploy secure, scalable, and cost-optimized AWS infrastructure.
- Manage AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, and Lambda.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using CloudFormation, Terraform, or AWS CDK.
- Monitor and optimize cloud performance, security, and cost.
- Ensure compliance with security and governance standards in the cloud.
- Collaborate with DevOps, Security, and Application teams to support infrastructure needs.
- Lead infrastructure projects and mentor junior engineers.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and best practices.
- Participate in on-call rotation and incident response as needed.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in Linux system administration.
- 5+ years of experience with VMware virtualization technologies.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure.
- Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar).
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus).
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional.
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP).
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or equivalent.
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
