About The Job:
- We are looking to hire a SharePoint Migration Engineer with hands on experience to support a large-scale migration project from SharePoint (Online/On-Premises) and file shares to another tenant in SharePoint Online.
- This role requires strong experience in manual/offline migrations (upload the data and transfer to SPO).
- The candidate will be responsible for supporting the migration planning, execution, permissions rebuilding, and post-migration validation.
Migration Planning & Assessment
- Analyse existing SharePoint environments (Online/On-Prem) and file shares
- Perform inventory of sites, libraries, files, metadata, and permissions
- Identify risks such as large files, broken inheritance, and unsupported customizations
- Define migration strategy (phased/manual/batch-based)
- Validate data readiness before migration
- Execute migration using offline/intermediate transfer methods
- Recreate SharePoint site collections, libraries, and configurations in target tenant
- Upload and validate large volumes of data
- Handle throttling, performance tuning, and retries
- Track progress, maintain logs, and resolve migration issues
- Rebuild SharePoint permission structures in the target environment
- Map users/groups between source and destination tenants
- Fix broken inheritance and ensure proper access control
- Align with governance and security policies
- Troubleshoot missing content, metadata issues, and broken links
- Perform validation and reconciliation reporting
- Optimize document libraries and site structure
- Support business users during transition
- Rebuild or enhance custom SharePoint solutions

Work with:
- Power Automate/Nintex workflow
- SharePoint Framework (SPFx)
- Replace legacy features with modern SharePoint Online capabilities
- Create migration runbooks and technical documentation
- Maintain issue logs and resolution trackers
- Share daily/weekly status updates with stakeholders
- Exp: 5 to 10 years
- 5–10 years of IT experience with at least 3+ years in SharePoint migrations

Strong hands-on experience with:
- SharePoint Online (SPO)
- SharePoint On-Premises (2013/2016/2019)

Solid understanding of:
- SharePoint architecture and site hierarchy
- Document libraries, metadata, and content types
- Permission models (users, groups, inheritance)
- Experience with any migration tools such as ShareGate
- Strong exposure to manual or semi-automated migration approaches
- Experience handling large datasets
- Hands-on experience with PowerShell (PnP, SPO Management Shell)
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Good communication and stakeholder coordination
- Ability to work in fast-paced migration projects with tight timelines
- Experience in cross-tenant SharePoint migrations
- Microsoft 365 / SharePoint certifications
- Knowledge of compliance, governance, and retention policies
- Experience working in enterprise-scale migration programs
- Proven experience in offline/manual migration execution
- Ability to rebuild site structures, permissions, and metadata from scratch
- Strong focus on data validation and reconciliation accuracy
