About The Job:
- Project Directors are responsible for overseeing the overall management and success of complex or multiple projects.
- Project directors provide leadership to strategically manage risk, monitor finances and ensure each project or major phase of work is started or completed on time.
- They also engage deeply with their customers at a senior level to ensure that real needs are met and outcomes realised at a strategic level.
- They also act as a point of escalation internally and foster cultures of excellence in the project teams they oversee.
- The Project Director provides strategic leadership, direction, and oversight across multiple projects, ensuring successful delivery of complex, high-value projects that align with organisational strategy and objectives. Responsibilities highlight a strong emphasis on the business aspect of project management, including strategic alignment, commercial acumen, and the realization of tangible benefits across the project portfolio.
- The Project Director role, as described focused on ensuring that multiple projects collectively contribute to the organization's strategic objectives and deliver measurable business benefits.
- The Project Director will apply the relevant project management methodology for the project life cycle. In case of Agile or Hybrid methodologies, the Project manager will endeavor to act as a Scrum Master, driving efficiency, collaboration, empowerment and value creation based on Agile principles.
- The Project Director role will also be engaged during pre-sales stages to support and contribute to the proposals helping in winning the deals.
- The Project Director will also play a vital role in ensuring seamless service integration of partners into the solution being delivered.
- Provide strategic direction and oversight across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy and objectives.
- Develop and maintain project governance frameworks, processes, and structures, supporting effective decision-making across multiple projects.
- Lead through complexity, adapting approach and methodology to address unique challenges and opportunities within large-scale, complex projects.
- Oversee the development and execution of project plans, schedules, and milestones, ensuring that projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and budget.
- Drive commercial acumen across the project portfolio, ensuring that projects achieve targeted business outcomes and deliver maximum value.
- Foster a business outcome-focused culture, aligning project teams with strategic objectives and ensuring that project deliverables contribute to organisational success.
- Provide guidance and direction to Project Managers and Project Coordinators, supporting their professional development and promoting best practices in project management.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, managing expectations, and ensuring strategic alignment.
- Oversee the identification, management, and mitigation of risks and issues across the project portfolio, ensuring effective risk management strategies are in place.
- Ensure seamless transition of projects to operations, including handover plans, training, and support documentation.
- Foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement, capturing and applying lessons learned across projects.
- Drive benefits realisation across the project portfolio, ensuring that projects deliver tangible, measurable outcomes that support organisational objectives
- Exp :- 9 – 12 yrs
- Advanced knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques with the ability to adapt and tailor governance arrangements to the needs of individual projects.
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of business drivers, with the ability to translate project objectives into tangible business outcomes.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Knowledge of how to optimise project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project or similar.
- Deep understanding of business finance and project budgeting.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to drive results across cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and teamwork.
- A sound knowledge and understanding of Orange products and solutions.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as business, management or engineering
- Professional Project Management and Agile certification (e.g. PMP, PMI-ACP, Scrum Master).
- Programme or Portfolio Management certification is also preferred
- Multisource Service Integration experience and/or certification (e.g. SIAM)
- 12 years+ experience in project management environments in the telecommunications industry.
- Extensive experience in managing large-scale complex projects or multiple projects concurrently.
- Language skills: Fluent English required, both spoken and written.
