About The Client:

Client is a life insurance company in India. The firm offers life insurance products targeted at individuals and groups, catering to four distinct segments: protection, children, retirement and investment plans.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Lead a team of specialist/analyst/BI experts to deliver a high-impact analytics ecosystem, smart dashboards on key metrics, and business intelligence tool/model management to support strategy for identifying personas, clusters, engagement sequencing, and enabling proactive campaigns to achieve revenue growth on Renewals, Persistency, and Retaining Surrender.
  • Transform data into actionable insights based on trend analysis, enabling data-led decision-making, inter-team customer policy allocation, and dynamic movement for close-looping.
  • Design contests based on incremental revenue on clusters at the team level while managing the cost of renewal/revival with a focus on reducing cost per policy.
  • Define and own the Analytics & MIS strategy aligned with business goals, growth plans, and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as the single source of truth for business performance metrics across renewal, persistency, and retaining surrenders.
  • Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of analysts, MIS specialists, and BI developers.
  • Drive a culture of data-driven decision-making across revenue functions in operations.
  • Own analytics for renewals, persistency, lapsation, revival, and premium continuity.
  • Track and improve 13M, 25M, 37M, and overall persistency metrics in line with IRDAI norms.
  • Build advanced models and insights to:
  • Predict lapse risk and regression models
  • Identify high-value renewal clusters, heat maps, and probability metrics
  • Improve revenue efficiency and customer retention rates
  • Design campaigns and tracking of target-driven models
  • Design contests, R&R, and incentives for incremental growth
  • Manage collection costs, increase revenue, and reduce operational costs
  • Partner with HO Business Intelligence & Strategy, Distribution Sales, Digital & Marketing, IT Ops, Business HR, and Operations teams to execute initiatives that improve renewals, persistency, and retention of surrenders.
  • Oversee end-to-end Daily/Weekly/Monthly MIS for senior management, Steerco, regulatory, and internal teams driving renewals and retention of surrenders.
  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, consistency, and reconciliation of all reported metrics.
  • Automate reporting frameworks to reduce dependency on manual processes.
  • Establish clear data governance, controls, and audit readiness.
  • Architect and govern Renewal & Surrenders BI dashboards using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, SAS, SQL, VB, etc.
  • Deliver CXO-ready dashboards with drill-downs by:
  • Channel (Agency, Bancassurance, Digital, Direct, etc.)
  • Product
  • Geography
  • Vintage and cohort
  • Persona
  • Propensity
  • Campaign performance
  • Measure of success
  • Enable self-service analytics for key business leads while maintaining data integrity.
  • Set best practices for advanced Excel, BI tools, and analytics usage across teams, including:
  • Power Pivot and Power Query
  • Advanced formulas and macros
  • Mail merge and analytical frameworks
  • Review and validate complex analytical models and MIS logic and explore external vendors.
  • Leverage large datasets from policy administration systems, CRM, CMS, and digital platforms.
  • Lead analytics support for digital renewal & persistency campaigns (SMS, WhatsApp, Email, IVR, App notifications).
  • Oversee campaign creation, customer segmentation, and targeting strategies.
  • Measure and optimize campaign effectiveness using:
  • Click and conversion rates
  • Collection uplift
  • Cost-to-collect metrics
  • Partner with Marketing, Digital, and CRM teams to enhance omnichannel customer engagement.
  • Ensure adherence to IRDAI regulations, customer consent norms, and data privacy standards while maintaining proper documentation, audit trails, and process controls.

Qualifications:
  • Exp: 10-15 Yrs
  • Life Insurance domain knowledge, especially in Renewals, Persistency, Policy Servicing, and Customer Lifecycle
  • CRM systems and campaign management tools
  • MS Excel (Pivot Tables, Lookups, Dashboards, Data MoClienting), Analytical BI Tools, and Query Management
  • KPI focus on improving renewal and persistency, reducing lapse rates, automation, accuracy, and adoption of MIS & smart dashboards
  • Advanced MS Excel expertise (expert level expected)
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and Qlik
  • Sound understanding of databases, SQL, and data architecture (preferred)
  • Experience with CRM and digital communication platforms
  • Strong understanding of IRDAI regulations, persistency norms, and regulatory reporting
Qualification Requirement:
  • Graduate in any discipline (MBA/Postgraduate preferred)
  • Certifications in Analytics, CRM, or Digital Marketing will be an added advantage
  • Graduate/Postgraduate in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or MBA (Analytics/Finance/Strategy) preferred
Relevant Work Experience Required:
  • 10–15+ years of experience with significant exposure to the Life Insurance domain (mandatory)
  • Proven leadership in Renewals, Persistency, and Business Analytics
  • Experience working with Indian Life Insurance products, premium modes, and policy lifecycle
  • Prior experience managing large analytics/MIS teams is essential
Language Proficiency:
  • English & Hindi
