About The Job:
- We are looking for a Network Engineer with expertise in F5 BIG-IP VPN and Access Policy Manager (APM) to design, build, implement, and support secure remote access and application access solutions.
- This role requires a hands-on technical expert who can work independently with business, security, and infrastructure stakeholders, translate requirements into robust technical designs, and own the full lifecycle of F5 VPN/APM services—from architecture through operations.
Stakeholder Engagement & Requirements Gathering
- Act as the primary technical expert for F5 VPN/APM engagements.
- Independently work with security, network, identity, application, and teams to gather and clarify requirements.
- Translate business needs into implementation plans.

Implement scalable, highly available F5 BIG-IP APM / VPN architectures, including:
- Remote access VPN (Network Access / SSL VPN)
- Application access (APM webtop, per-app access)
- High availability, redundancy, and failover models
- Produce High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documents, and operational runbooks.
- Define authentication, authorization, and access control policies aligned with enterprise security standards.

Design secure integrations with:
- Identity providers (e.g., Active Directory, LDAP, Azure AD/Entra ID, SAML, RADIUS)
- MFA solutions (e.g., RSA, Azure MFA, Duo, Okta)
- Enterprise PKI and certificate management

Configure and deploy F5 BIG-IP APM features including:
- Access profiles and access policies
- VPN connectivity, client and clientless access
- Authentication and authorization flows
- Endpoint inspection and posture checks

Implement integrations with enterprise systems:
- Firewalls, load balancers, DNS, routing
- Identity and MFA platforms
- Lead migrations and upgrades (e.g., legacy VPN solutions to F5 APM, software upgrades, platform refreshes).
- Ensure secure configuration standards, performance optimization, and scalability.
- Provide engineering support for F5 VPN/APM services.
- Troubleshoot complex access, authentication, performance, and availability issues.
- Own incident, problem, and change management for F5 platforms.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and drive permanent fixes.
- Monitor service health, capacity, and usage; proactively recommend improvements.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation, SOPs, and knowledge articles.
- Ensure VPN/APM configurations comply with security policies, regulatory requirements, and audit standards.
- Support internal and external audits by providing technical evidence and design rationale.
- Implement least-privilege access and strong authentication controls.
- Stay current with F5 security advisories and lead remediation efforts.
- Coordinate with vendors (F5) and internal teams for escalations and roadmap alignment.
Required Qualifications
- 6 Years of experience in enterprise network and security engineering.
- 3–5+ years of hands-on experience with F5 BIG-IP APM and VPN solutions.
- Proven experience independently manage implementation from requirements gathering through production support.

Strong understanding of:
- TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, load balancing
- SSL/TLS, certificates, encryption, secure authentication

Solid experience with identity and access technologies:
- Active Directory, LDAP, RADIUS
- SAML / SSO, MFA integrations
- Demonstrated troubleshooting skills in complex enterprise environments.
- Experience with F5 iRules (basic to intermediate).
- Knowledge of adjacent F5 modules (LTM, ASM, AFM).
- Experience with hybrid or cloud environments (Azure/AWS) and secure remote access patterns.
- Familiarity with Zero Trust and modern access models.
