About The Job:
- We are seeking a Network Engineer to build, implement, and support enterprise-grade Zscaler Secure Web Gateway (SWG) solutions.
- This role is ideal for a hands-on technical expert who can work independently with stakeholders, translate business/security requirements into technical architecture and detailed designs, and lead end-to-end delivery including implementation, operations, and continuous improvement.
- Own the end-to-end technical Implementation for Zscaler SWG implementations, including traffic forwarding, policy models, authentication, and logging/visibility.
- Part of requirements discovery workshops with security, network, identity, endpoint, and business stakeholders; produce HLD/LLD, implementation plans, and runbooks.
- Define scalable approaches for web access control, SSL inspection strategy, URL filtering, malware protection, sandboxing integrations (where applicable), and acceptable use policies.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise standards (security architecture, network architecture, compliance, privacy).
- Implement Zscaler SWG configurations: policy rules, URL categories, user/group-based controls, cloud app controls (where in scope), SSL inspection policies, bandwidth controls, and exception handling.

Implement connectivity and forwarding designs such as:
- Client files, GRE/IPsec tunnels, Zscaler Client Connector forwarding, explicit proxy designs (as applicable)

Integrate SWG with enterprise services:
- Identity and access: Azure AD/Entra ID, Okta, SAML/SCIM, MFA, user/group mapping
- Network/security stack: firewalls, SD-WAN, DNS, SIEM (Splunk/Sentinel/QRadar), CASB/DLP (if in scope)
- Manage rollout strategy: pilot → phased deployment → enterprise adoption; support change management and stakeholder communication.
- Provide L3 engineering support for SWG incidents, performance issues, policy troubleshooting, and complex user access problems.
- Monitor service health, troubleshoot outages/latency, and drive root cause analysis (RCA) and problem management.
- Maintain documentation: architecture diagrams, operating procedures, policy standards, exception process, and knowledge articles.
- Own continuous improvement: policy optimization, rule hygiene, reducing exceptions, improving user experience and security posture.
- Ensure SWG policies meet regulatory, privacy, and compliance requirements.
- Participate in audits and security reviews; provide evidence and technical inputs.
- Enforce least privilege and secure-by-design principles.
- Act as the technical lead/SME for SWG, mentoring junior engineers and providing design reviews.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for escalations, feature adoption, and roadmap alignment
- Exp: 9 to 12 years
- 6 years in enterprise network/security engineering, with strong experience in secure web access technologies.
- 3+ years hands-on experience implementing/supporting Zscaler SWG in an enterprise environment.
- Proven ability to engage with stakeholders, gather requirements, and create technical designs (HLD/LLD) and implementation plans.

Strong networking fundamentals:
- TCP/IP, routing, NAT, DNS, proxy concepts, TLS/SSL, certificate management
- Experience with GRE/IPsec tunnels, SD-WAN integration, and firewall routing considerations

Identity & access integration experience:
- SAML/SSO, SCIM provisioning, group-based policy, MFA considerations

Operational excellence:
- Incident/problem/change management experience
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to lead RCA
Desired / Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Zscaler Client Connector deployments and troubleshooting.
- Experience with SSL inspection at scale (certificate distribution, exceptions, application compatibility).

Knowledge of adjacent Zscaler modules (nice-to-have):
- ZIA, ZPA, CASB, DLP, advanced threat protection (depending on your stack)
- SIEM integrations and log pipelines (Splunk/Sentinel/QRadar), parsing, dashboards, alerts.
