Job Title: Public Policy / Government Relations Consultant\nSector: Gold, Bullion, Refinery, Precious Metals\nEngagement Type: Retainer / Project-based\nRole Summary\nWe are looking for a senior Public Policy / Government Relations professional or consultant who can support policy, representation, and proposal-building work in the gold, bullion, refinery, and precious metals ecosystem.\nThe role will involve working with the Finance Ministry and other relevant ministries on issues related to gold import, bullion policies, and other policy matters requiring engagement with government ministries, trade bodies, and industry stakeholders.\nThis role requires someone who combines policy understanding, stakeholder access, and strong proposal drafting ability. We are not looking for only an introduction-led liaison profile. The person should be able to understand business problems and convert them into structured policy notes, representations, and actionable proposals.\nKey Responsibilities\nSupport policy and regulatory work related to gold import, bullion, refinery business, EGR, gold bonds, and other related products.\nHelp build structured policy notes, representation documents, concept notes, and proposal drafts.\nSupport engagement strategy with relevant ministries, including the Finance Ministry and, where relevant, the Consumer Affairs Ministry.\nTrack policy developments impacting the gold, bullion, refinery, precious metals, trade, and commodity ecosystem.\nAdvise management on the right policy approach, stakeholder mapping, representation strategy, and possible routes for resolution.\nWork with internal business, finance, legal, and leadership teams to convert business issues into structured policy proposals.\nSupport meetings, submissions, follow-ups, and representations with government bodies, industry bodies, trade bodies, and policy stakeholders.\nIdentify relevant associations, forums, committees, and stakeholders where Augmont should have presence or representation.\nIdeal Candidate\nExperienced in public policy, government relations, regulatory affairs, industry bodies, consulting, policy advocacy, or government-facing roles.\nStrong understanding of government processes, ministry engagement, policy representation, and stakeholder mapping.\nPrior exposure to gold, bullion, commodities, gems and jewellery, trade, finance, banking, exchanges, or refinery businesses preferred.\nAbility to draft high-quality policy notes and proposals, not just facilitate introductions.\nStrong government relations network preferred, especially within the policy, ministry, trade body, or regulatory ecosystem.\nComfortable working on a retainer or project-based engagement.\nMature, discreet, credible, and able to engage with senior leadership.\nCore Skills\nPublic Policy, Government Relations, Policy Advocacy, Regulatory Affairs, Ministry Liaison, Gold Import, Bullion, EGR, Electronic Gold Receipts, Refinery Policy, Finance Ministry, Consumer Affairs, Proposal Drafting, Stakeholder Management, Trade Policy, Commodities, Precious Metals, Gems and Jewellery, Industry Bodies\nEducation\nGraduate / Postgraduate in Public Policy, Law, Economics, Commerce, Finance, Political Science, International Trade, or a related field preferred.\nRelevant experience and network will be prioritised.\nPreferred Background\nPublic policy consulting\nGovernment relations\nIndustry bodies / trade associations\nRegulatory affairs\nCommodities / bullion / gems and jewellery ecosystem\nFinance ecosystem
