Senior System Admin- Microsoft SharePoint & Power Platform
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer and Administrator to join our team, with a primary focus on SharePoint and OneDrive administration and governance. In this role you will be responsible for the administration, configuration, security, and governance of Microsoft SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business along with good hands on Knowledge of Power Platform and SharePoint customizations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in SharePoint and Power Platform, along with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
SharePoint & OneDrive Administration
- Administer SharePoint Online sites (Team Sites, Communication Sites, Hub Sites) and OneDrive for Business environments.
- Manage site creation, permissions, storage quotas, sharing settings, and lifecycle management.
- Configure and maintain SharePoint features including document libraries, lists, metadata, content types, and versioning.
- Monitor platform health, usage analytics, and storage consumption.
- Perform user access management and troubleshoot permission-related issues.
Governance & Compliance
- Design, implement, and enforce SharePoint and OneDrive governance policies and best practices.
- Manage data classification, retention, and sensitivity labels in collaboration with security and compliance teams.
- Ensure compliance with organizational, regulatory, and legal requirements (e.g., data privacy, records management).
- Define and maintain naming conventions, site provisioning standards, and ownership models.
- Support eDiscovery, legal holds, and audit requirements.
Security & Data Protection
- Configure secure sharing policies (internal and external users).
- Implement security controls such as Conditional Access, MFA alignment, and DLP policies.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to data leakage and unauthorized access.
- Coordinate with cybersecurity teams on incident response and risk assessments.
Support & User Enablement
- Provide Tier 2/3 support for SharePoint and OneDrive-related issues.
- Develop and maintain user documentation, governance guidelines, and best practice guides.
- Train end users and site owners on SharePoint and OneDrive usage, governance, and adoption.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for collaboration solutions within Microsoft 365.
Continuous Improvement
- Stay current with Microsoft 365 updates, roadmap changes, and new features.
- Recommend enhancements to improve collaboration, performance, and governance.
- Participate in platform modernization, migrations, and change management initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor"s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience administering SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 administration, including Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).
- Hands-on experience with permissions management, governance frameworks, and compliance tools.
- Knowledge of PowerShell for SharePoint and Microsoft 365 administration.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Purview (Retention, DLP, sensitivity labels).
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and documentation abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-102, PL-900, or SharePoint-related certifications).
- Experience with Power Automate and Power Apps.
- Knowledge of migration tools (ShareGate, Microsoft Migration Manager).
- Experience supporting large enterprise or regulated environments.
Good to Have
- Power Platform: Experience supporting and securing Power Apps and Power Automate solutions within the SharePoint environment.
- AvePoint Expertise: Hands-on experience with the AvePoint suite (e.g., Cloud Governance, Cloud Backup, Opus,Enpower) for automated governance and data resilience.
