Power BI Admin

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Power BI Administrator to manage and oversee our Power BI environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration, governance, performance optimization, and security of Power BI services within the organization. This role plays a critical part in ensuring scalable, reliable, and secure business intelligence capabilities across departments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and manage the Power BI service, including workspaces, datasets, dataflows, and gateways.
• Configure and maintain Power BI tenant settings, security roles, and compliance policies.
• Monitor system performance and usage metrics using Power BI audit logs and activity monitoring tools.
• Manage and troubleshoot Power BI gateways (Enterprise and Personal).
• Enforce governance and best practices around workspace structure, data certification, and report sharing.
• Support user provisioning, role-based access control (RBAC), and license assignments.
• Coordinate with infrastructure and security teams to ensure data security, compliance, and access controls.
• Manage Power BI Premium capacity, usage, and optimization.
• Collaborate with report developers and business users to troubleshoot access, performance, and data refresh issues.
• Maintain documentation related to Power BI architecture, policies, and procedures.
• Stay updated on new Power BI features and enhancements; provide recommendations for adoption.

Required Qualifications:

• Strong hands-on experience as a Power BI Administrator in enterprise environments.
• Proficiency with Power BI Service, Power BI Desktop, Gateways, and Power BI Admin Portal.
• Experience with Azure Active Directory (AAD) and Microsoft 365 security & compliance.
• Familiarity with PowerShell, DAX, and M for administration and reporting tasks.
• Solid understanding of data governance, security, and compliance within Power BI.
• Experience with Power BI Premium capacity management.
