About the Role

Due to continued growth, DNV Business Assurance is seeking a Senior Technical Approval Officer to join our Global Technical HUB (GTH).

The Global Technical HUB is part of Global Operations & Technical and is responsible for global accreditation governance, technical compliance, and consistent certification quality across all DNV market units worldwide.

In this role, you will be part of an international team of technical experts, working closely with market units, technical managers, sales, and operations. You will play a key role in ensuring that certification decisions fully comply with ISO/IEC 170211, relevant IAF mandatory documents, scheme rules, and accreditation requirements.

You will report to the GTH Team Manager.

As a Senior Technical Approval Officer, you will:

  • Perform technical reviews and certification decisions to verify compliance with ISO/IEC 170211, applicable schemes, and DNV rules
  • Review audit reports, competence assignments, proposals, and certification decisions across multiple management system standards
  • Monitor and analyse certification performance and quality trends across market units
  • Provide clear, pragmatic, and constructive feedback to support continuous improvement
  • Actively support market units in maintaining accreditation acceptance and meeting business and quality objectives
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with global stakeholders to resolve technical issues
  • Support resolution of internal and external audit findings, including accreditation body findings
  • Maintain your own lead auditor qualifications through periodic auditing
  • Ensure that impartiality and independence are always safeguarded
  • Work in a production-oriented environment, balancing quality, consistency, and timeliness

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in accredited management system certification activities (e.g. technical review, accreditation management, scheme governance, quality or performance analysis)
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO/IEC 170211 and relevant IAF Mandatory Documents
  • Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17029 is an advantage
  • In-depth experience with at least three management system standards, such as:
    • ISO 9001
    • ISO 14001
    • ISO 45001
  • Knowledge of sustainability-related schemes or standards (e.g. ISCC, ISO 14064, EU ETS) is a strong plus
  • Certified Lead Auditor, with at least two maintained LA qualifications
  • Ability to review and assess audit outcomes across single and integrated certification scopes
  • Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action processes
  • Confident user of digital tools and systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
