The requirement is for Basis resource who has worked with BW installation/upgrade. Ideal candidate should have deep Basis skills, BDC exposure and BW to B4HANA upgrade experience.
SAP Basis Senior consultant demonstrated experience managing complex SAP landscapes, including end-to-end delivery of BW system upgrades. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in SAP NetWeaver/ABAP stack administration, BW/4HANA or BW on HANA architecture, and has led or actively participated in at least one major BW release upgrade. This role operates at the intersection of platform stability, performance optimization, and strategic upgrade execution, supporting critical business intelligence workloads in a highly regulated enterprise environment.
BW / BW on HANA / BW/4HANA basis Administration
Administer SAP BW environments including process chains, Info Providers, Data Store Objects, and Open ODS views.
Monitor and optimize BW data loads, manage error handling, and coordinate with functional teams for data integrity.
Perform BW housekeeping: index rebuilding, statistics updates, data archival, and PSA clean up.
Tune HANA-layer performance for BW workloads — composite providers, HANA optimized InfoCubes, and virtual providers.
Support migration of classic BW objects to BW/4HANA using the SUM/DMO toolset and BW/4HANA Cockpit.
Lead or co-lead technical upgrade of SAP BW landscape — from current release (BW 7.x or BW on HANA 2.x) to target release (BW/4HANA 2.x or equivalent).
Execute pre-upgrade analysis using Maintenance Planner and Upgrade Dependency Analyzer (UDA); resolve add-on and note conflicts.
Coordinate with functional BW leads on object migration scope — identification of incompatible objects, BEx query migration to Analysis for Office or SAP Analytics Cloud.
