Mechanical Engineer
Job Description
Expected to proactively collaborate with others on routine work and are accountable to incorporate into design to meet the quality and schedules. Actively seek out opportunities to increase productivity by suggesting and driving improvements within the platform, technical practices and delivery procedures.\n\nResponsibilities\nDesign, development, and technical analysis of moderate scope and complexity.\nContribute to multiple projects.\nGenerate, evaluate, analyze, and develop design concepts for systems, components, and assemblies.\nCollaborate with others on routine work.\nIncorporate design to meet quality and schedules.\nSuggest and drive improvements within the platform, technical practices, and delivery procedures.\n\nQualifications\nMust be a BE/BTech in mechanical engineering at a minimum from a reputed university.\n2 - 4/ 5-7 years of experience in working on mechanical product development involving plastic, sheet metal and diecast components.\nDesired to have worked across all phases of new product development processes - initiation, requirements management, concepting, detailed design, verification & validation, handing over for production with accountability of deliverables across phases.\n\nRequired Skills\nAbility to collaborate and work within a team environment.\nProficient with 3D CAD software (preferably CREO) and Windchill.\nExcellent communication and presentation skills.\nDemonstrated strong analytical, mechanical, and troubleshooting skills.\nGood working knowledge of Engineering Fundamentals, DFMEA, ECN, GD&T, drawing for production, tolerance analysis, Engineering Calculations and other product development associated techniques and tools.\nGood knowledge on various manufacturing processes.\nExperience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is a bonus.\nKnowledgeable in problem solving skills.\nQuickly learn established engineering processes (like Product development process - ECN, BOM, RFQ, etc.), standards, methods and procedures needed to accomplish assigned tasks with discipline.\nBe able to prioritize work, meet agreed project timelines, cost and quality.\nAbility to develop Innovative Ideas.\n\nWe Celebrate Who We Are!\nAllegion is committed to building and maintaining a diverse and inclusive workplace.
