Job Summary

Synechron is seeking a skilled Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain high-performance enterprise applications. In this role, you will be instrumental in enhancing our platforms, integrating backend services, and ensuring system stability and scalability. Your contributions will support our organization's strategic goals by delivering reliable, secure, and efficient software solutions. The role emphasizes collaborative development practices, continuous integration/delivery, and leveraging emerging AI automation technologies to optimize data pipelines and application performance.

Software Requirements

Required Software Proficiency:

• Java (versions 8 or higher) – Demonstrated experience in enterprise application development

• Spring Framework (MVC, JPA) – Hands-on experience in building scalable web applications

• Hibernate – Proficient in ORM for database interaction

• Oracle SQL/PL/SQL – Advanced data management and query optimization skills

• MongoDB – Experience with NoSQL data storage and retrieval

• Git & GitHub Enterprise (GHE) – Version control and collaboration experience

• Build tools: Maven and Gradle – Build automation and dependency management

• CI/CD Tools: Jenkins, TeamCity, uDeploy, OpenShift – Pipeline setup and operation

• Messaging: Tibco EMS – Integration experience with message-oriented middleware

Preferred Software Skills:

• AI development tools such as Devin and GitHub Copilot – For automation and code assistance

• Automations tools like Autosys, Light Speed, Hermes

• Postman, curl – API testing and validation

• Cloud platforms (e.g., OpenShift) – Container orchestration and deployment

Overall Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and deploy Java-based enterprise applications, including RESTful and SOAP web services.

• Manage data storage solutions using Oracle (SQL/PLSQL) and MongoDB, ensuring data integrity and performance.

• Integrate AI-powered automation into data pipelines and ETL processes to enhance system efficiencies.

• Troubleshoot and optimize application performance, identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across development, operations, and data management to deliver high-quality solutions.

• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, and deployment.

• Promote CI/CD practices, automating build, test, and deployment workflows for rapid release cycles.

• Maintain adherence to development standards, security protocols, and best practices.

• Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and system maintenance after deployment.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 7+ years in Java enterprise application development.

• Demonstrated experience building REST and SOAP web services, integrating with backend systems.

• Proven experience managing data with Oracle (SQL/PLSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB).

• Experience working within CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps environments.

• Familiarity with AI automation tools for data pipeline optimization is preferred.

• Industry experience in finance, banking, or large-scale enterprise systems is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Alternative pathways: extensive hands-on project experience, certifications, or contributions to open source projects.

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.

• Relevant certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE, or Cloud certifications are a plus.

Day-to-Day Activities

• Designing and coding scalable, maintainable Java applications and services.

• Developing and maintaining database schemas, queries, and data pipelines.

• Integrating AI automation into data workflows for efficiency gains.

• Participating actively in planning meetings, code reviews, and sprint reviews.

• Conducting troubleshooting, performance tuning, and system monitoring.

• Collaborating with QA teams to ensure code quality and functional coverage.

• Automating deployment processes and supporting continuous integration practices.

• Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent work experience.

• Proven expertise with Java, Spring, Hibernate, Oracle, and MongoDB.

• Experience designing and implementing APIs and integrating with middleware solutions.

• Certifications in Java or Cloud technologies are valuable.
