Manager - GST Advisory & Compliance
Job Description
1. Responsible for managing client engagements relating to GST advisory, GST audits, compliance reviews, and statutory compliance services.
2. Manage a team of 23 members including direct reporting employees handling various client engagements.
3. Provide GST advisory support on routine queries involving classification, place of supply, input tax credit, taxability, and related matters.
4. Handle GST assessments, notices, departmental audits, scrutiny proceedings, and support in drafting replies, representations, and submissions before authorities.
5. Conduct GST health checks, audits, and compliance reviews for client organizations and identify potential risks, process gaps, and improvement opportunities.
6. Oversee timely preparation, review, and filing of GST returns including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, annual returns, reconciliation statements, and other related statutory filings.
7. Develop GST compliance checklists, SOPs, review templates, audit formats, trackers, and process documents for effective work management, standardization, and strengthening internal controls.
8. Maintain cordial relationships with clients, deliver quality service, and effectively address concerns or feedback.
9. Responsible for task allocation based on client engagements, managing CRM updates for the team, conducting knowledge sharing sessions, and updating the team on regulatory developments and GST amendments.
10. Report on team and client-related updates to Reporting Manager / Management.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
1. Excellent Interpersonal, Managerial & Leadership Skills
2. Strong knowledge of GST laws, rules, procedures, and practical implementation aspects
3. Experience in GST advisory, GST audits, compliance reviews, litigation support, and departmental interactions
4. Good analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret tax provisions and business scenarios
5. Strong communication skills (English Written & Spoken compulsory)
6. Proficiency in MS Excel and GST-related compliance utilities/software
