Job Description
The Regional/Cluster Business Head (CBH) will be responsible for driving overall business performance, strengthening stakeholder relationships, ensuring operational excellence, and leading high-performing teams across the cluster.
A. Business Leadership Role
Build and maintain strong one-on-one relationships with key government stakeholders including the Health Secretary, DGHS, and District-level CMDs.
Establish and nurture relationships with corporate clients and local business bodies such as CII, NATHEALTH, ASSOCHAM, and similar forums.
Maintain excellent connectivity with large hospital administrators and senior clinicians, particularly Heads of Departments (HODs).
Develop and sustain strong relationships with key clients and prescribers to drive long-term business growth.
Act as a cost custodian for the cluster, with direct responsibility for profitability and bottom-line performance.
B. Laboratory Operations Role
Maintain strong engagement with in-house pathologists as well as pathologists from key competitor laboratories.
Ensure thorough understanding, implementation, and compliance with laboratory processes, protocols, and quality standards.
Closely monitor consumption patterns and inventory levels to avoid excess stock and prevent near-expiry or expired materials.
Provide leadership to the entire laboratory operations team, including front office staff, with a focus on improving walk-ins, service quality, and overall patient experience.
C. Sales Leadership Role
Lead, guide, and mentor Sales Managers and teams, fostering a high-performance and achievement-oriented culture.
Drive aggressive business growth across the cluster in line with the Company's annual business plan.
Ensure effective execution and monitoring of key sales inputs, including:
o Administrative data tracking and compliance related to chamber call effectiveness of the sales team.
o Facilitating access to Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and key prescribers for Managers and the sales team.
o Conducting periodic, structured performance reviews of team members.
Achieve and exceed business targets through optimal and efficient utilization of resources, balancing both top-line growth and bottom-line profitability.
D. People & Stakeholder Engagement Role
Ensure seamless coordination and alignment between the cluster team, Head Office (HO), and National Reference Laboratory (NRL).
Proactively manage people-related issues to ensure low attrition and high engagement levels.
Motivate, inspire, and develop teams to build a sustainable leadership pipeline within the cluster.
This role demands a seasoned leader with strong local market knowledge, deep healthcare industry relationships, and the ability to balance business growth with operational excellence and people leadership.
