Job Description

Key Responsibilities: Service

  • Address patients with psychological, emotional, behavioural and mental health issues.
  • Identify and Diagnose emotional, behavioural, psychological and mental health disorders.
  • Counsel patients with emotional and psychological issues.
  • Define treatment plans for patients.
  • Implement various treatment plans and psychotherapeutic interventions to improve patient outcomes.
  • Perform psychological interventions through various treatment strategies.
  • Follow up with patients during and post treatment.
  • Monitor patients response to treatment and progress following counselling.
  • Collaboration with other medical disciplines to ensure overall health improvement of the patient.
  • Provide grief counselling/ bereavement counselling to patients relatives.
  • Any other responsibility as assigned by the organization on the need basis


Key Responsibilities: Growth

  • Plan, and participate in health programs in the hospital
  • Work towards promoting the hospitals clinical psychology services through exceptional clinical practice and standard of care.
  • Support to the director towards departmental growth


Key Responsibilities: Quality

  • Measuring effectiveness of interventions and implementing changes when required.
  • Ensure adherence to internationally accepted standards of care, including but not limited to those recommended by JCI, NABH and other quality systems
  • Follow all infection control and other hygiene protocols at all times
  • Actively participate in infection control and prevention activities, campaigns, awareness sessions etc.


Key Responsibilities : Finance

  • Ensure optimum utilization of hospital resources


Key Responsibilities : People

  • Be available to provide coverage in the absence of colleague on need basis.
  • Support in training / orienting the new staff in the department.
  • Work as a team when patient care requires a multi-disciplinary approach.


Key Responsibilities : Innovation & Research

  • Give suggestions / feedback to further improvise services of department and growth of the department
  • Participate in clinical education, research, test medication, clinical tests to advance the practice of medicine as well as academic and teaching activities as required by the DNB, CPS and any Fellowship programs


EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Necessary: B.Sc Clinical Psychology

Desirable: M.Sc Clinical Psychology


RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:

Type of roles (and duration) which an individual ideally should have done in his/her prior experience to be detailed

Necessary: 2 3years experience.
