About the Role

Fresenius is implementing a global SAP S/4HANA transformation program across multiple business units, functions, and geographies. As part of this transformation, we are evaluating and deploying next-generation agentic AI capabilities, SAP Business AI solutions, intelligent automation, and AI-enabled business process orchestration. We are seeking a highly capable SAP Agentic AI & Intelligent Automation Lead to evaluate emerging SAP AI capabilities, design enterprise-grade use cases, and drive deployment of scalable AI-enabled business solutions across the SAP ecosystem. This role sits at the intersection of SAP enterprise architecture, AI innovation, business process transformation, governance, and delivery execution. The successful candidate will work closely with global SAP teams, business stakeholders, architecture, security, data, and external partners to identify practical, high-value use cases and operationalize them responsibly.

Responsibilities

AI Strategy & Agent Adoption

• Lead evaluation and phased adoption of SAP Joule Assistants and Joule Agents across Finance, HR, Procurement, and Supply Chain business functions.
• Develop and maintain the organization's AI agent governance framework, aligned with SAP AI Agent Hub (GA Q3 2026).
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify and prioritize automation opportunities across global business units.
• Partner with SAP and SI partners to leverage the Anthropic-SAP collaboration and Claude-powered agent scenarios.
• Drive adoption of Embedded Joule across S/4HANA and cloud applications for in-workflow AI assistance.
• Own the Joule Studio 2.0 practice — intent-based agent design, PRD authoring, and deployment to SAP AI Agent Hub.
• SAP Business AI Platform: Evaluate platform readiness, guide Fresenius's adoption posture across BTP, SAP Business Data Cloud, and SAP Business AI, and ensure the organization is positioned to consume platform capabilities as they reach GA.
• Autonomous Enterprise & SAP Autonomous Suite: Assess which Autonomous Suite agents are relevant across Fresenius's Finance, Spend, Supply Chain, HCM, and CX functions, prioritize adoption, and define the governance model for agent-driven process execution.
• Joule Work: Lead the Joule Work rollout strategy, define the change management approach, and align business stakeholders on the shift from traditional SAP UX to an intent-driven, AI-native interaction model.

Joule & Agent Development

• Design, build, and deploy custom Joule Agents using Joule Studio 2.0 — from intent specification and PRD authoring through testing, governance, and production rollout.
• Develop and extend Embedded Joule capabilities within S/4HANA transactions and Fiori apps, grounded in live SAP data and process state.
• Build multi-step, multi-agent orchestration flows connecting SAP and non-SAP systems using the A2A protocol.
• Establish internal agent development standards covering grounding strategy, tool definition, error handling, and safety guardrails.
• Coordinate with ABAP teams on ABAP MCP integration (GA June 2026) to connect ABAP assets to the agentic ecosystem.
• Mentor and upskill internal developers in Joule agent patterns and Joule Studio tooling.

Stakeholder Enablement & Governance

• Serve as internal SME and evangelist for AI across the SAP ecosystem.
• Build internal capability through training, documentation, and hands-on enablement programs.
• Establish a Center of Excellence (CoE) model for AI-powered SAP development, including playbooks and governance frameworks.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on experience with SAP systems, including solid understanding of S/4HANA, BTP, and broader SAP ecosystem process connectivity across modules.
• Hands-on BTP experience focused on enabling and adopting AI capabilities — specifically Joule, Joule Studio 2.0, SAP AI Core, and AI Foundation services.
• Demonstrated experience with SAP AI Core — managing AI scenarios, model deployments, resource groups, and connecting to the generative AI hub.
• Familiarity with SAP AI Foundation — including the SAP Knowledge Graph, semantic data layers, and how business context is structured for agent grounding.
• Proven track record delivering SAP integration or AI projects in enterprise environments.
• SAP BTP: configuration, enablement, and governance of Joule and Joule Studio deployments end-to-end.
• SAP AI Core: scenario management, model serving, generative AI hub API consumption, and resource configuration.
• SAP AI Foundation: Knowledge Graph, grounding services, semantic data, and the unified SAP Business AI Platform architecture.
• Joule and Embedded Joule: configuration, skill extension, and contextual grounding within S/4HANA and Fiori.
• Joule Studio 2.0: intent-based agent design, PRD authoring, tool definition, and publishing to SAP AI Agent Hub.
