Analog Devices is seeking an experienced analog/mixed-signal IC design technical manager to join the Digital BU, Processor Group. The role leads a small team while serving as the analog technical lead responsible for block definition, design execution, and analog subsystem integration across multiple product domains.

Responsibilities

-Requirements and architecture: translate system requirements into block-level architectures, specifications, and interface requirements

-Analog design ownership: design and review analog circuits/blocks to meet performance, power, area, and robustness targets

-Analog integration leadership: drive cross-block alignment and tradeoffs, partner with digital design on integration details, and coordinate validation/silicon debug through bring-up and issue resolution

-Modeling for verification: create analog models to support system verification and integration (including mixed-signal modeling in SystemVerilog where appropriate)

-People leadership: supervise, mentor, and develop analog design team members; drive execution through priorities, design reviews, and technical decisions

-Layout partnership: provide technical guidance to the physical layout team (constraints, matching/noise strategy, floorplan intent, and review)

-Test collaboration: collaborate with test engineering to ensure adequate test coverage; analyze ATE characterization data to set test limits and validate performance

-Lab validation: evaluate devices in the lab to validate product specifications using standard bench equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, logic analyzer, power supplies, etc.)

-Customer/application support: interface with customers to understand use cases and issues; collaborate with applications on evaluation boards and application software as needed

-Quality/debug: participate in root-cause analysis of customer returns and functional issues

Role scope

-Analog circuit definition, design, and integration is the core of the role, with regular cross-functional engagement across digital integration, validation, production test, software enablement, and customer support.

What success looks like

The analog subsystem meets spec with clear interfaces, predictable integration, and efficient debug across lab/ATE/customer feedback loops, while the team consistently delivers high-quality blocks on schedule.

Minimum Requirements

-BSEE (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering

-12+ years of analog/mixed-signal IC design experience with ownership from architecture through silicon bring-up

-4+ years of technical people-management experience with direct reports (hiring, coaching, performance management)

-Demonstrated ability to serve as an analog technical lead while managing a team (prioritization, technical direction, design reviews, decision-making)

-Ownership of analog integration across the subsystem, including interface definition, requirements alignment across blocks, cross-block tradeoffs, and coordinating validation/silicon debug with partners (without owning top-level AMS verification)

-Strong hands-on analog design experience across multiple blocks such as ADCs/DACs, voltage references, op amps, switched-capacitor circuits, regulators, and oscillators

-Experience with mixed-signal/system modeling to support architecture, partitioning, and design trade-offs

-Working knowledge of ESD protection methodology and design considerations for robust interfaces

-Strong understanding of custom IC layout constraints (parasitics, matching, noise coupling) and effective partnership with layout to achieve PPA targets

-Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable driving alignment across design, layout, validation, and test

Preferred Qualifications

-FinFET analog/mixed-signal design experience at advanced nodes

-Experience with custom digital design supporting mixed-signal IP (e.g., calibration, state machines, control/trim logic, interfaces)

-Strong understanding of production test/DFT for analog/mixed-signal (ATE constraints, coverage, trim strategy, characterization)

-Experience defining end-user PCB/interface requirements (signal integrity, grounding, filtering, reference/clocking, pinout considerations)
