Position: Manager – Career Services Department

Reporting To: Manager/Head – Career Services


Position Summary

The Manager – Career Services will support student placements, internships, employer engagement, career development activities, and industry relations. The role involves coordinating recruitment drives, maintaining placement records, assisting students with career readiness initiatives, and building strong relationships with corporate partners.


Key Responsibilities

Placement & Internship Coordination

  • Coordinate campus recruitment drives, internship programs, and placement activities.
  • Liaise with companies for job and internship opportunities.
  • Schedule interviews, assessments, pre-placement talks, and selection processes.
  • Ensure smooth communication between recruiters, students, and academic departments.

Employer Relations

  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective recruiters.
  • Assist in organizing corporate engagement activities, industry visits, and networking events.
  • Maintain an updated database of employer contacts and recruitment partners.

Student Career Support

  • Guide students regarding placement processes, internship opportunities, and career planning.
  • Assist in organizing resume-building workshops, mock interviews, aptitude training, and career development sessions.
  • Support students in maintaining professional profiles and application documents.

Data Management & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of internships, placements, employer interactions, and student participation.
  • Generate periodic reports on placement statistics and recruitment outcomes.
  • Track student employment data for accreditation and ranking requirements.

Administrative Support

  • Prepare official correspondence, placement agreements, and documentation.
  • Coordinate with academic departments regarding student eligibility and recruitment schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with university policies and placement procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Management, Education, or a related field.
  • Master's degree preferred.

Experience

  • 2–5 years of experience in placement, career services, recruitment, HR, training, or student engagement.
  • Experience in higher education institutions will be preferred.

Required Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong coordination and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and data management.
  • Event planning and execution skills.
  • Ability to work with students, faculty, and corporate partners.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking capabilities.
