Role Descriptions: The primary responsibility is to build and configure Linux servers according to business requirements. The role involves performing operating system patching| updates| and maintenance. Diagnosing and resolving kernel panic and boot issues is critical. Monitoring system performance and tuning activities are essential for optimal operation. Additionally| automating routine tasks using shell scripting is a key responsibility.
Essential Skills: Familiarity with ITIL processes can enhance incident and change management capabilities. Experience with monitoring and alerting tools is a plus| as it aids in maintaining system performance. Knowledge of network connectivity issues and their resolution is beneficial. Understanding of user account management and permissions is also advantageous. Any additional certifications in Linux administration would be a bonus.Solid experience in Linux administration is crucial| particularly with distributions like EL| CentOS| or Ubuntu. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills are necessary for diagnosing and resolving system issues. Hands-on experience with shell scripting is essential for automating tasks. A strong understanding of Linux security and hardening practices is required to protect systems. Experience in production environments with SLA requirements is also important.
