Job Description
STYLI has quickly become a dominant force in the e-commerce fashion space across the GCC - Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, and Kuwait and in India.\n\nRole Overview:\nThe Garment Technologist is responsible for ensuring that all products meet quality, fit, and performance standards suitable for online retail. This role bridges design, buying, and Sourcing teams — translating creative concepts into technically sound, production-ready garments while maintaining brand quality, sustainability, and cost goals.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n1. Product Development & Sampling\nWork closely with design and sourcing teams to develop product specifications, size sets, and spec sheets in Terra and Octa ( PLM for Styli ).\nCreate Spec sheet as per the Tech pack created by Design team and share it with Vendors for Fit and PP samples.\nEvaluate prototype samples for construction, measurements, and workmanship; provide detailed comments for improvement.\nConduct fit sessions on models or mannequins and finalize fit approvals for bulk production.\nEnsure consistency in fits, measurements, and finishes across product categories.\n2.
Technical Specifications\nApprove pre-production and production samples based on brand standards.\nStandardize size charts and grading rules based on customer body data and online returns analysis.\nSuggest possible fabric to be used as per design techpack.\n\n3. Quality Assurance\nDefine and implement quality standards for materials and garments suited for e-commerce (appearance, packaging, and durability).\nEvaluate fabric performance, shrinkage, colorfastness, and wash standards.\nCollaborate with QA/QC teams and vendors to resolve technical issues and reduce defect rates.\nSupport third-party testing and compliance checks as per brand requirements.\n4. Vendor & Production Support\nProvide technical guidance to factories and vendors for sample development and bulk execution.\nEvaluate vendor capability and capacity for product categories.\nEnsure timely approvals and pre-production readiness to meet online launch calendars.\n5.
Data & Digital Readiness\nSupport digital product creation (DPC) by providing accurate spec data for 3D sampling or virtual try-ons using Clo3D and other relevant softwares when implemented.\nAnalyze online returns, customer feedback, and reviews to drive continuous product improvement.\n\nKey Skills & Competencies\nStrong understanding of garment construction, pattern making, and grading.\nExpertise in fabrics, trims, and wash techniques.\nExcellent knowledge of fit, measurement standards, and pattern corrections.\nProficiency in PLM systems, Excel, and digital tools like CLO3D, Lectra.\nStrong communication skills to liaise across design, buying, and sourcing team teams.\nDetail-oriented with a hands-on, problem-solving approach.\n\nQualifications & Experience\nBachelor’s degree in Fashion Technology, Apparel Design, or Textile Engineering. With specialisation in Pattern making and grading.\n8-12 years of experience in garment technology, preferably in an e-commerce or fast-fashion environment.\nExperience with women’s western wear / men’s wear / kidswear.\nFamiliarity with online product requirements and fit accuracy for digital shoppers.\n\nKPIs / Success Metrics\nSample approval lead time\nFirst-time right sample %\nReturn rate reduction due to fit/quality issues\nVendor compliance and on-time approvals\nGarment spec quality optimization
