Senior Manager, Cloud & Data Platform Solutions
Job Description
You will own the Azure cloud environment that hosts AARC's applications, data, and AI systems — including the Microsoft Fabric data platform and the Power BI analytics and pipelines built on it — and keep it secure, reliable, and cost-efficient. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role: you own the platform end-to-end, shape how we deliver cloud solutions, and lead the engineers who deliver on it.\nThe role is anchored on Microsoft Azure and Fabric today, with the expectation that you build multi-cloud breadth (AWS, GCP) as AARC takes on AI solution work for external clients. Based in India, you will manage and develop AARC's India-based engineering team, partner closely with the AI and full-stack engineering functions, and work directly with US-based leadership to turn business priorities into a well-run platform.\n\nWhat You Will Do\nCloud Platform (Azure)\nOwn AARC's Azure cloud platform — the environment that hosts our applications, data, and AI systems (App Service, Functions, Blob Storage, Key Vault, and related services).\nKeep the platform reliable, scalable, secure, and cost-efficient, with sound secrets management, identity, and access control.\nOversee how applications are hosted and run on the cloud, working alongside the full-stack and DevOps engineers.\nData Platform — Microsoft Fabric & Analytics\nOwn the Microsoft Fabric data platform — Lakehouse, Warehouse, SQL endpoints, Dataflows Gen2, and pipelines — as the shared source of truth for analytics, applications, and AI.\nBuild and maintain reliable ETL/ELT and refresh schedules; keep data governed, performant, and well-documented.\nLead delivery of Power BI dashboards and robust data models (Power Query, DAX), including performance tuning and Row-Level Security.\nProvide the secure, structured data access that full-stack applications and AI/RAG systems query; write and optimize SQL/T-SQL (and KQL/PySpark where applicable).\nAutomation & Enterprise Integration\nOversee API-based data acquisition and workflow automation using Make.com and Power Automate (HTTP modules, routers, webhooks, scheduling, retries, error handling).\nSupport integrations across SharePoint, Microsoft Graph, Monday.com, Jotform, FileMaker, and QuickBooks.\nEnsure automation is reliable, auditable, and suitable for business-critical compliance workflows.\nMulti-Cloud Breadth (Azure-first)\nMaintain deep, hands-on ownership of Azure and Fabric as the core platform.\nBuild breadth across AWS (e.g., Bedrock, SageMaker) and GCP (e.g., Vertex AI) so AARC can deliver client AI solutions on the cloud that fits the client.\nMake pragmatic, vendor-neutral choices on cloud services and tooling based on fit, cost, and security.\nCloud Solutions for Clients\nDesign cloud solution architectures for AARC's external client engagements — spanning compute, data, AI/ML, and integration — on the cloud that best fits the client (Azure, AWS, or GCP).\nAct as a trusted technical advisor to clients, translating their business objectives into cloud-native architectures.\nSupport proposals and RFP responses with credible, costed solution designs, and own the technical success of client implementations from architecture through delivery.\nDefine multi-tenancy, security, and data-handling patterns appropriate for client data.\nSecurity, Cost & Governance\nAct as the subject-matter owner for cloud and data security across the platform.\nApply identity, access, and data-protection practices (Entra ID, RBAC, OAuth 2.0) appropriate to the regulated, compliance-driven contexts AARC works in (EHS, engineering, tax, and financial advisory).\nMonitor cloud usage and cost; drive optimization and report cost and value to leadership.\nContribute to compliance, audit-readiness, disaster recovery, and platform reliability standards.\nTeam Leadership & Collaboration\nManage, mentor, and grow AARC's India-based engineering team (including analytics engineers); set engineering standards, run code/dataset reviews, and support career development.\nAct as a trusted technical advisor to US-based leadership, translating business objectives into clear platform architecture and priorities.\nOperate independently and drive multiple concurrent workstreams across cloud, data, automation, and AI support, from requirements through production.\nEstablish and share best practices and standards across AARC's engineering teams, and partner with AI engineers, full-stack engineers, and the Technical Project Manager.\nProactively raise risks, blockers, dependencies, and timelines; communicate technical tradeoffs clearly to technical and executive audiences.\nContribute to documentation, data-model definitions, deployment notes, and operational runbooks.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.\n10+ years across cloud computing, infrastructure, data & analytics, security, networking, or systems engineering — broad technology domain experience.\n5+ years designing, implementing, or architecting cloud solutions and data platforms.\n5+ years managing or leading engineering teams (including senior engineers or team leads).\nTrack record of owning technical strategy and standards for a platform or function.\nHands-on experience owning a major cloud environment — Azure preferred (App Service, Functions, Storage, Key Vault, identity, networking, security); AWS or GCP experience equally valued.\nExperience with cloud data platforms and analytics — Microsoft Fabric SQL and Power BI preferred, or comparable (e.g., Synapse, Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery; Tableau, Looker).\nStrong SQL and data fundamentals, including ETL/ELT and pipeline design.\nExperience with application hosting, deployment, and CI/CD on the cloud (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps), plus monitoring and diagnostics.\nExperience integrating systems via REST/Graph APIs and workflow automation (e.g., Make.com, Power Automate, or similar).\nWorking understanding of cloud security, identity, governance, and cost management.\nStrong communication and stakeholder-management skills — able to advise leadership and lead a team on-site.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nMulti-cloud certifications — e.g., Azure AZ-305 / AZ-400 / DP-600, AWS Solutions Architect, or Google Professional Cloud Architect.\nInfrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking experience.\nExperience with Docker/containers, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Bicep), and cloud-native architecture.\nExperience designing client-facing cloud solution architectures, multi-tenant SaaS, and responding to RFPs or solution proposals.\nExperience supporting AI/LLM and RAG workloads across providers (Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, GCP Vertex AI) and vector databases.\nExperience acting as a technical advisor to senior or executive stakeholders, translating business needs into architecture.\nPython for ETL/automation; KQL or PySpark; Azure Data Factory; exposure to Copilot in Fabric.\nMonday.com administration, access controls, and governance experience.\nExperience in regulated industries — compliance, environmental services, engineering, healthcare, finance, or legal.\n\nGrowth Opportunity\nThis role offers strong, company-wide ownership of AARC's cloud and data platform and leadership of the India-based engineering team.
You will work closely with US-based leadership, contribute to architecture and platform standards, and have a clear path to grow into broader multi-cloud and client-facing solution delivery as the business expands.
