Job Overview

We are seeking a junior Financial Analyst to join our team in Mumbai on a contract-to-hire or contract basis. The ideal candidate will support data-driven financial initiatives and partner with key stakeholders to ensure business growth through financial insight, reporting, and analysis.

Qualifications and Skills

• Financial Modeling (Mandatory skill): must be able to construct, interpret, and analyze complex financial models for forecasting and decision making.
• Budgeting (Mandatory skill): ability to develop, manage, and monitor budgets, ensuring all financial targets are met in a timely manner.
• Data Analysis (Mandatory skill): proficiency in gathering, cleaning, and analyzing datasets to provide actionable business insights.
• Financial Reporting: experience in preparing and presenting clear and accurate financial reports to management and stakeholders.
• Microsoft Excel: advanced spreadsheet skills, including pivot tables, macros, and functions relevant for financial tasks.
• Financial Planning: capability to contribute to the creation and maintenance of financial plans that reflect company strategy.
• Attention to Detail: strong ability to notice inconsistencies, double-check calculations, and ensure high quality and precision in deliverables.
• Strong Communication: effectively convey technical financial information to both finance and non-finance teams when collaborating.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Assist in the creation, maintenance, and refinement of detailed financial models to drive critical business decisions and scenario planning.
• Prepare regular financial reports, including variance analysis, providing explanation and insight on business performance versus target.
• Support budgeting processes, including collection and validation of inputs from multiple departments and tracking expenditures.
• Analyze large sets of financial and operational data to identify trends, variances, risks, and opportunities for efficiency improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information, align on budgets, and communicate financial guidelines across business units.
• Assist in the preparation of presentations, forecasts, and ad hoc financial analysis required for management or board meetings.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and contractual requirements in all financial documentation and procedures.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives for financial systems and reporting to increase accuracy and efficiency.
