Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled VB + SQL Developer with 46 years of experience to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Visual Basic (VB/VB.NET) and SQL, and will work closely with business and technical teams to develop, enhance, and support enterprise applications. This role requires overlap with US business hours and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain applications using Visual Basic (VB/VB.NET)
• Write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve application and database-related issues
• Perform performance tuning and optimization of SQL queries and database objects
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, business analysts, and US-based stakeholders
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices
• Provide production support, bug fixes, and minor enhancements as needed
• Create and maintain technical documentation

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 46 years of strong hands-on experience in Visual Basic (VB or VB.NET)
• Strong expertise in SQL (complex queries, joins, subqueries, stored procedures)
• Experience working with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL)
• Solid understanding of application development life cycle (SDLC)
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
• Experience working in a client-facing or US-shift environment
• Good communication skills (written and verbal)
