About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Quality Assurance Manager to lead the Quality function for our Video Annotation and AI Training Data programs. This role is responsible for establishing and scaling quality operations, developing robust quality frameworks, and ensuring the delivery of high-accuracy annotation outputs across multiple projects and clients.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Video Annotation workflows, strong people leadership skills, and proven experience in designing quality processes from the ground up. This individual will serve as a key partner to Operations, Production, and Client Success teams to drive operational excellence, process standardization, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Strategy & Governance
- Define and execute the overall Quality Assurance strategy for Video Annotation and AI Data Operations.
- Establish quality standards, acceptance criteria, audit methodologies, and performance benchmarks aligned with client and business requirements.
- Develop scalable quality governance models to support multiple projects, teams, and delivery environments.
- Drive a culture of quality excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement across the organization.
Quality Function Setup & Process Development
- Build and operationalize end-to-end Quality Assurance processes for new and existing annotation programs.
- Design and implement quality frameworks covering:
- Video Labeling
- Object Detection
- Bounding Box Annotation
- Semantic and Instance Segmentation
- Object Tracking
- Video Captioning
- Multi-stage Review and Validation Workflows
- Establish quality checkpoints, audit mechanisms, review workflows, and escalation processes.
- Define sampling strategies, audit frequencies, and quality scorecards to ensure consistent delivery standards.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation including:
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Quality Manuals
- Reviewer Guidelines
- Audit Frameworks
- Calibration Documents
- Training Materials
- Process Maps and Workflow Documentation
Quality Monitoring & Audit Management
- Lead quality audits and performance reviews to evaluate annotation accuracy, consistency, completeness, and guideline compliance.
- Conduct regular calibration sessions to ensure alignment across production, review, and quality teams.
- Monitor quality trends and identify process gaps, recurring errors, and improvement opportunities.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) plans to address quality issues effectively.
- Drive initiatives aimed at reducing rework, improving first-pass yield, and enhancing overall delivery quality.
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with Operations and Production teams to optimize workflows and improve operational efficiency.
- Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives based on performance metrics and business requirements.
- Recommend process enhancements, automation opportunities, and best practices to improve scalability and productivity.
- Support the implementation of quality methodologies and continuous improvement frameworks.
Performance Management & Reporting
- Establish, track, and analyze key quality and operational metrics, including:
- Annotation Accuracy

- First-Pass Quality
- Reviewer Productivity
- SLA Adherence
- Client Acceptance Rates
- Escalation Metrics
- Develop dashboards and management reports to provide actionable insights to leadership and clients.
- Present quality performance reviews, trends, and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop QA Leads, Quality Auditors, and Quality Analysts.
- Define performance expectations, conduct evaluations, and support career development initiatives.
- Drive training, coaching, and capability-building programs to improve team performance.
- Build a high-performing quality organization focused on accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary quality representative for client-facing discussions related to project delivery and quality performance.
- Collaborate with clients to understand quality expectations and translate requirements into operational processes.
- Manage quality escalations, conduct investigations, and provide timely resolution and communication.
- Support client audits, quality reviews, and business review meetings.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to data security, confidentiality, and project-specific compliance requirements.
- Monitor operational risks impacting quality and implement mitigation strategies.
- Maintain compliance with organizational policies, contractual obligations, and industry standards.
Preferred Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Postgraduate qualification or certifications in Quality Management, Operations, or Project Management will be an advantage.
Experience
- 7+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, Data Annotation, AI Training Data Operations, BPO/KPO Operations, or related domains.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience leading Quality Assurance teams and managing large-scale operational programs.
- Demonstrated experience in establishing QA processes, frameworks, and governance models from the ground up.
- Hands-on experience managing quality functions for Video Annotation or AI data projects is highly preferred.
