A New Product Development (NPD) Executive is a cross-functional role responsible for shepherding products from initial ideation to commercial launch. They act as a bridge between marketing, R&D, procurement, and manufacturing to ensure new products meet consumer needs, quality standards, and launch timelines


Roles & Responsibilities

  • Product Ideation & Research: Conduct market research, analyse consumer trends, and identify product gaps to conceptualize new product ideas.
  • Project Management: Track the end-to-end development pipeline to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with R&D, branding, supply chain, and packaging teams to ensure seamless execution.
  • Testing & Validation: Oversee lab trials, prototype testing, stability tests, and consumer feedback sessions.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure formulations/designs align with regulatory safety standards and maintain necessary documentation.


Key Requirements & Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, or a related field relevant to your industry (e.g., cosmetics).
  • Experience: Typically, 2–5 years of experience in product development, brand management, or project management.
  • Core Skills: Strong analytical thinking, vendor management, organizational skills, and proficiency in project tracking tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira).

· Time-to-Market: Launching products within the planned calendar schedule.

· On-Shelf Availability: Ensuring product rollouts happen without supply bottlenecks.

· Product Margin: Meeting target costs and profitability margins during product pricing.

· Launch Quality: Minimizing post-launch defects and customer complaints.
