Job Description

About the Role: Associate – Founder's Office

The Founder's Office at OLF is a 5-person team that works with the CEO to drive efficiency, governance, and scale across the Vinoba program. As an Associate, you will work on rotational assignments — typically 3-6 months — embedded inside a department (HO or field, across Maharashtra & Chhattisgarh), diagnosing problems, designing systems, and executing improvements end-to-end. When an assignment is complete, you move to the next.

This is a role for builders who are comfortable both in the weeds and in the boardroom. You

will replace manual processes with systems, consolidate redundant tools and forms, and identify gaps/challenges/mistakes before they scale. You will be expected to move fast, make judgment calls under pressure, and own outcomes. You will be one of five people positioned to see the entire organisation from the inside.

Key Deliverables

• Lead 3-6 month assignments over two years across HO and field teams; diagnose process gaps and execute improvements end-to-end.

• Build systems that reduce manual work, consolidate redundant tools and forms, and replace outdated systems.

• Drive program governance through structured review discipline — flag issues as Fatal/Critical/Moderate and work with managers to ensure timely corrective action.

• Coordinate cross-functionally so that decisions taken in one team translate into execution in others.

• Produce documentation, dashboards, and reporting structures that outlast individual assignments.

Functional Areas

Your assignments will draw from four functions of the Founder's Office:

• Systems Building and Program Governance — Build systems including those for Governance to drive efficiency and scale across Vinoba Program.

• Field Diagnostics & Resolution — Diagnose gaps/challenges/operational pain points across field processes in Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh, work with senior government stakeholders to improve effectiveness, and drive growth in teacher participation in OLF programs.

• Quality Assurance of HO Products — Audit outputs from HO departments (data, reports, content, communication), validate accuracy and credibility, and raise the quality bar of work that goes to the field, government partners, and donors.

• Expansion of OLF Initiatives — Support scoping, planning, and rollout of new geographies, programs, and partnerships as OLF scales.

Candidate Profile

• Graduate or Postgraduate from a top-tier institution with a strong academic record.

• Either: an exceptional fresher with demonstrated initiative (entrepreneurial work, leadership in student bodies, independent projects), or 2-4 years of experience in execution-heavy roles (operations, consulting, ed-tech, start-ups, social impact, or similar).

• Rigorous attention to detail

• Comfortable making judgement calls under pressure without waiting for permission.

• Strong analytical and numeracy skills; able to move from data to insight to decision quickly.

• Ability to work cross-functionally and embed into a new team every 3–6 months without losing momentum.

• Inclination and passion for social impact in the education sector.

Personal Attributes

• Truthful and honest.

• Hard working.

• Believes in the Values and DNA of OLF and lives them in day-to-day work.

Why This Role

Work closely with the CEO and senior leadership, receive mentorship from IIT/IIM alumni and IAS officers, and gain hands-on experience in large-scale system transformation in education.

Language Requirements

Proficiency in English is essential. Hindi and the local language (e.g., Marathi in Maharashtra) are beneficial but not essential to have.

Application Process

• In your cover letter, tell us: why this interests you, what you bring to the table, how your experience aligns with the role, and what's in it for you.

• Selection Process: Initial Screening Call → Interview → Spend a Day at CEO's Office → Advanced Assignment (if required) → Final Interview.
