GCP Cloud Engineer

Experience Required:

• Mid-level: 6+ years (hands-on platform build & configuration on GCP, Terraform IaC, CI/CD, and operational readiness)

Role Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

• Detailed design, build and configuration of GCP platform components using Terraform, producing configuration baselines and as-built documentation – in line with customer standards for GCP
• Manage and provision infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform preferred) including GKE runtime configuration, observability integration, and data platform connectivity (Kafka/DBMS).
• Produce detailed designs and implement build/configuration (incl. as-built documentation and configuration baselines) for GCP environments
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Cloud Build, Jenkins, GitHub Actions)

• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting
  • using Dynatrace (metrics, logs, dashboards, alerting integration
  • Cloud Logging as a source feeding Dynatrace

• Optimize cloud environments for cost, performance, and reliability
• Implement and configure DBMS services on GCP (e.g., MongoDB Atlas or managed DB services), including connectivity, backup/restore, access controls, and monitoring integration

• Manage GCP services, including:
  • Compute Engine, GKE (Kubernetes Engine)
  • Cloud Storage, BigQuery
  • VPC, Load Balancing, Cloud DNS

• Ensure security and compliance:
• IAM least privilege + service accounts for pipelines/workloads
• Secrets management patterns (Secret Manager + KMS)

• Network controls (private connectivity patterns, firewall rules)Troubleshoot production issues and ensure high availability
• Collaborate with development teams to enable cloud-native application deployment

Required Skills:

• Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Hands-on experience with:
  • Terraform / Deployment Manager - (modules, state management, policies/guardrails, drift detection)
  • Docker & Kubernetes (GKE)
• Proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language: Python, Bash, or Go
• Operational observability with Dynatrace (instrumentation/integration, dashboards, alerting)
• DBMS on GCP (e.g., MongoDB Atlas / managed DB) including backup/restore and access controls
• Experience with CI/CD tools
• Understanding of networking concepts (VPC, subnets, firewalls)
• Familiarity with Linux systems administration
• Knowledge of monitoring & observability tools
