What the Role Looks Like

• Identify and develop reliable local suppliers for CRC, MS, and Aluminium scrap

• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms

• Ensure timely procurement with quality and compliance adherence

• Monitor market trends, commodity pricing, and regulatory changes (focus on CRC scrap)

• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships

• Evaluate supplier performance regularly


Job Description

Role: Procurement Specialist

Experience: 6+ years

Location: Chennai, Tamil Nadu

Qualification: Graduate, B.Tech Preferred

Language Requirement (Mandatory): Tamil & English


Job Summary

We are looking for a sourcing professional with strong vendor management and negotiation skills who canensure cost-effective, reliable procurement of industrial scrap while managing supplier networks and market dynamics.


Key Responsibilities

1. Supplier Development & Management

• Identify and onboard new scrap suppliers locally

• Build long-term supplier relationships

• Conduct periodic supplier performance evaluations


2. Procurement & Negotiation

• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery schedules

• Ensure cost optimization and supply security

• Manage purchase cycles efficiently


3. Market Intelligence & Compliance

• Track commodity price movements and market trends

• Monitor regulatory changes impacting scrap procurement

• Provide insights for strategic sourcing decisions


4. Cross-Functional Coordination

• Collaborate with production, finance, and quality teams

• Align sourcing plans with operational requirements

• Ensure material availability as per production schedules


5. Reporting & Analysis

• Maintain sourcing records and procurement data

• Analyze cost trends and supplier performance

• Prepare reports for management review


Skills & Experience We’re Looking For:

Must-Have

• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills

• Team Handling and Stakeholder Management

• Experience in sourcing industrial scrap (CRC preferred)

• Understanding of commodity markets and pricing trends

• Good analytical and reporting skills (Excel/Google Sheets)

• Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams

• Bachelor’s degree (Engineering/Commerce preferred)


Good-to-Have

• Experience in metal manufacturing or recycling industry

• Knowledge of compliance and scrap-related regulations

• Prior experience in cost optimization projects
