Job Description
Job Title: Principal Analyst – Tech Compliance
Location: Bangalore (Onsite)
Reporting to: Director - Tech Compliance
PURPOSE OF ROLE
This role is essential for monitoring software license usage at ABI to ensure compliance by inducting & maturing controls-oriented key performance indicators (KPIs) that drive actionable insights towards minimizing risks.
KEY TASKS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Deliver end‑to‑end software license compliance as a Licensing Subject Matter Expert, with primary accountability for SAP estates and Tier‑2 / Tier‑3 publishers across on‑prem, hybrid, and cloud environments.
- Demonstrate strong expertise in SaaS licensing measurement and monitoring, including publishers such as Adobe, Microsoft 365, ServiceNow, and similar enterprise SaaS platforms.
- Analyze and interpret software licensing contracts, entitlements, and usage data to provide clear, actionable compliance and risk insights to ABI stakeholders.
- Should be hands-on across license lifecycle on SAM platform such as Flexera One/ ServiceNow - data extraction, entitlement configuration, compliance analysis, and license position reporting.
- Apply practical knowledge of data extraction from other IT platforms (SAP RISE/ECC, Publisher & Cloud platforms) to support accurate license consumption analysis and audit defense.
- Drive demand forecasting and license planning, partnering with Procurement, IT, and Legal teams to support commercial negotiations and optimize contractual outcomes with publishers and OEMs.
- Lead and support internal and external software audits, ensuring the organization remains audit‑ready and compliant across the assigned publisher portfolio.
- Identify and execute license optimization opportunities to improve cost efficiency, reduce compliance exposure, and maximize return on investment (ROI) on software spend.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT domain – Engineering, Computer Applications, Technology courses
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years in Software Asset Management domain
Technical/Functional Skills:
Mandatory Skills:
- SAM tool experience
- SAP licensing (Expert ) + Min. 2 beyond Top Tier licensing
- SAM Process lifecycle
- SaaS License Management like Adobe, Salesforce, M365
- Stakeholder Communication
Preferred (Good to have) Skills:
- SAP RISE & Cloud
- Flexera One SAM tool
- Data Visualization (Power BI)
- Office suite usage
- FinOps & Cloud
- AI Tools usage (Copilot, Open AI, Anthropic)
- Experience in working in a global setup
