About the Role
We are looking for an experienced System Architect to drive the architectural vision and technical strategy for a large-scale, cloud-native platform. This role requires a strong background in .NET/C#, Microsoft Azure, distributed systems, API design, integrations, and Agile at scale (SAFe) .
As a key technical leader, you will collaborate with product, engineering, security, and operations teams to build scalable, secure, and resilient solutions while enabling engineering teams to deliver efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture Leadership
- Define and communicate the end-to-end architecture vision across browser, API, integration, and cloud layers.
- Lead logical, integration, and deployment architecture for:
- .NET / C# backend services
- Azure-hosted applications and workloads
- Enterprise and third-party integrations
- Establish and govern authentication and authorization patterns (OAuth/OIDC), API standards, data access, and persistence strategies.
- Partner with product teams to design scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions.
- Support initiative planning, scoping, and technical feasibility assessments.
Technical Strategy & Modernization
- Define technology standards and best practices for .NET, Azure, APIs, and CI/CD.
- Drive modernization initiatives, cloud evolution, and integration simplification.
- Ensure architectural decisions support long-term scalability while minimizing unnecessary redesign.
- Champion security-first design principles and architectural governance.
- Create and prioritize architecture-related backlog items and technical enablers.
Agile & SAFe Leadership
- Act as the System Architect within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment.
- Participate in Program Increment (PI) Planning and ART-level activities.
- Develop architecture runway, technical epics, and enablers.
- Collaborate with Product Management on dependency analysis and feature planning.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks while managing technical debt proactively.
Team Enablement
- Guide engineering teams on architectural decisions and implementation trade-offs.
- Enable teams to make autonomous design decisions within architectural guardrails.
- Publish architecture standards, reference implementations, and technical documentation.
- Mentor engineers and provide expertise on complex technical challenges.
Quality, Security & Reliability
- Embed non-functional requirements including performance, scalability, availability, and security into solution designs.
- Promote observability, operational readiness, disaster recovery, and failover capabilities.
- Work closely with Security and Operations teams to ensure compliance and platform reliability.
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Expertise
- 12+ years of experience building enterprise-grade software systems.
- Extensive hands-on experience with .NET / C# architecture and development.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure and cloud-native architectures.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems and service-oriented architectures.
- Advanced knowledge of:
- API design and governance
- Integration patterns
- OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and modern authentication mechanisms
- CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Experience with operational excellence, monitoring, and cloud infrastructure management.
Architecture & Agile
- Proven experience in a System Architect , Enterprise Architect, or similar technical leadership role.
- Strong understanding of SAFe and Agile delivery methodologies.
- Experience building and maintaining architecture runway, technical enablers, and architectural governance frameworks.
Leadership & Communication
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to influence engineering teams and business stakeholders without direct authority.
- Strong decision-making skills with the ability to balance immediate delivery needs and long-term architectural sustainability.
