Job Description

About SASE

The System for Alternative Schooling and Education (SASE) is a Cognia-accredited school offering the American High School Diploma, grounded in a Posthumanist educational philosophy.

Learning is approached here as a relational and evolving process—one that honours the individuality of each child while recognising their place within a wider social, ecological, and technological world.

Personalised learning pathways are offered from Preschool through Grade 12 within an inclusive, international community. Accreditation by Cognia reflects a commitment not only to recognised standards, but to a more thoughtful and meaningful experience of education.

SASE is seeking a thoughtful, skilled, and compassionate Special Needs Educator to support learners with diverse developmental, emotional, cognitive, sensory, and learning needs within an inclusive school environment.

The role will involve:

  • Developing and implementing IEPs and IDPs through careful observation, assessment, documentation, goal-setting, progress tracking, and regular review with educators, parents, and external specialists.
  • Providing individualised learner support using evidence-informed strategies for neurodiversity, executive functioning, communication, emotional regulation, sensory needs, literacy, numeracy, and social participation.
  • Collaborating with classroom educators to adapt curriculum, learning materials, classroom routines, assessments, and environments so that each learner can participate with dignity and meaningful engagement.
  • Maintaining high-quality documentation and communication , including learner profiles, intervention plans, progress notes, parent updates, multidisciplinary meeting records, and recommendations for further support where required.
  • Bringing global best practices into everyday work , including inclusive education, Universal Design for Learning, child safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, positive behaviour support, assistive technologies, and respectful partnership with families.

  • SASE deeply values the role of educators and recognises the intellectual, emotional, and professional commitment this work requires. We offer one of the highest salary structures in the industry, along with benefits that reflect our respect for educators and their long-term growth.
