Financial Controller
Job Description
The Finance Controller leads all financial and accounting operations, ensuring accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance across UK and India. This role reports to the CFO/Finance Director and combines technical expertise with strategic oversight.
Key Responsibilities :
- Oversee accounting operations (A/R, A/P, GL, billing, inventory, revenue recognition)
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and monthly variance analysis
- Ensure strong internal controls and compliance with UK GAAP/IFRS
- Manage cash flow, treasury, and financial planning
- Handle statutory filings (UK Companies House & India MCA)
- Oversee tax compliance:
- UK: Corporation Tax (CT600), VAT (MTD)
- India: Income Tax, GST, TDS/TCS
- Coordinate external audits and ensure regulatory compliance
- Manage payroll compliance (UK PAYE/NI, India PF/ESI/PT).
Statutory & Tax Compliance (UK & India)
• Annual Filings: Lead the preparation and timely submission of statutory accounts and annual returns to UK Companies House and the Indian Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA).
• Tax Management:
• UK: Manage Corporation Tax (CT600) and VAT filings under Making Tax Digital (MTD) rules.
• India: Oversee Income Tax, GST (returns and reconciliations), and strict monthly TDS/TCS compliance.
• Audit & Standards: Serve as the primary contact for external auditors, ensuring financial statements comply with UK GAAP/IFRS and Ind AS (Indian GAAP).
• Payroll & Levies: Ensure accurate compliance with UK PAYE/NI and Indian PF/ESI/PT regulations.
Requirements :
- Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance; CA/CPA/CMA preferred
- 7+ years’ experience, including 2+ years in a controller role
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting and consolidation
- Experience with Xero and advanced Excel skill.
