We are a subsidiary of Nikkiso Company Ltd, a leading industrial manufacturer headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, with $1.5 B USD in annual revenue, 8000 + employees worldwide, and publicly traded on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.\nJob Overview\nResponsible for providing technical leadership and making critical technical decisions related to the design, development, and implementation of complex engineering projects.\nResponsibilities\nEssential Functional:\nResponsibilities:\nReasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nEnsure project requirements are clearly defined, understood and effectively communicated to the team\nIdentify and address project risks and issues, implementing corrective actions as necessary\nCollaborate with project managers and other team leaders to ensure effective project coordination within the budget and meeting client expectations\nFoster a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement within the team\nProvide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, supporting their professional development\nDevelop, monitor and maintain projects/department KPIs as required\nStay updated on industry trends and best practices to drive technical innovation within the company\nCollaborate with stakeholders to identify project goals and objectives, translating them into actionable plans\nCommunicate prompt responses to external and internal customer comments and inquiries, maintaining excellent customer service\nEnsure the team adheres to best practices in engineering design, project management and quality assurance\nParticipating in employee disciplinary meetings and investigations\nPromote compliance with applicable standards, regulations and company policies.\nDuring the first year of an employment, the candidate shall be required to travel to different locations, like Korea, China, and the US, up to 100 days to gain the necessary experience (including sailing and onshore).\nAuthorities:\nConduct performance evaluations; provide feedback to team members on their technical capabilities, project contributions, and interactions with both internal and external clientele.\nReview/approve and support team members with timecard entry, work order assignments and PTO requests.\nSupervisory Responsibility\nThe position supervises project engineers within their team as assigned by the Director, Engineering.\nWork Environment\nThis job operates in a professional office environment.\nThis role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones.\nPhysical Demands\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.\nSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.\nThis would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.\nQualifications\nEducation, Experience and Skills:\nBachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.\nExtensive 5 years of experience in Marine engineering project management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects.\nStrong technical background and expertise in the relevant engineering discipline(s).\nExcellent leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.\nEffective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.\nStrong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.\nKnowledge of industry best practices, regulations, and emerging trends in engineering.\nOther Duties\nPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
