If you’re ambitious, mission-driven and excited to work on real deployments that strengthen the industry that really matters, AssetCool is where you can make it happen.\n\nRole Overview\nWe are seeking an Operations Manager to establish and lead our first-of-its-kind data facility in India, focused on overhead power line operations.

This is a greenfield role with genuine strategic responsibility - you will take the operation from concept to fully operational delivery.\n\nYou will oversee facility setup, operational planning, workforce management, vendor coordination, budget ownership, and ongoing day-to-day execution once the site is live. You’ll work closely with AssetCool’s UK-based leadership and AI research teams, while operating with significant autonomy on the ground in India.\n\nThis role requires a highly practical, hands-on operator who is comfortable building processes, managing people, solving problems quickly, and operating effectively within a fast-moving and evolving environment.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop and implement the operational plan and budget for the India facility, including staffing, equipment, workflows, and operational readiness.\nLead facility setup activities including site selection, lease coordination, fit-out, infrastructure readiness, and operational launch.\nRecruit, onboard, and manage a mixed workforce of skilled and semi-skilled operational staff (target team size 25–50).\nEstablish scalable operational processes, reporting structures, and performance standards.\nOversee daily operational activities, ensuring delivery targets, quality standards, and productivity metrics are achieved consistently.\nManage vendor, contractor, and supplier relationships across facilities, equipment, and operational services.\nMonitor operational performance, budgets, risks, and resource requirements, providing regular updates to UK leadership.\nSupport the implementation of health & safety procedures and operational compliance standards.\nDrive continuous improvement across operational efficiency, process consistency, and workforce performance.\nWork cross-functionally with engineering, AI research, and leadership teams to support operational objectives and scaling plans.\n\nRequired Skills & Experience\nProven operations management experience within industrial, engineering, manufacturing, utilities, construction, or field-based environments.\nExperience managing site-based or facility-based operations and mixed-skill operational teams.\nStrong organisational and operational planning capability in fast-moving environments.\nCommercially aware, with experience managing budgets, suppliers, contractors, and operational spend.\nAbility to work independently, prioritise effectively, and make sound operational decisions with limited oversight.\nStrong leadership and people management skills, including recruitment, team development, and performance management.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience working across international teams and time zones.\nPractical problem-solving mindset with a hands-on approach to delivery.\nFamiliarity with health & safety requirements within industrial or operational environments.\n\nDesireable Skills & Experience\nExperience establishing a new facility, operational function, or greenfield operation from scratch.\nExperience within utilities, overhead line operations, infrastructure, or industrial operations environments.\nExperience implementing operational processes, KPIs, or continuous improvement initiatives.\n\nWhy Join AssetCool?\nWork on groundbreaking technology revolutionizing the power grid.\nFast-growing startup with significant industry traction and large-scale projects.\nCollaborative, innovation-driven team with exciting career growth opportunities.\nCompetitive salary, and flexible work options\n\nResearch shows that some candidates may hesitate to apply unless they meet every listed requirement.
