The role demands a strong personality with high ownership mindset, leadership depth, and the ability to drive discipline, performance, and accountability across a large finance team. The incumbent will act as a finance business partner to plant operations while maintaining strict financial controls.\nKey Responsibilities\n1️⃣ Plant Finance Leadership\nHead end-to-end plant finance & accounts operations.\nLead, control and mentor a team of ~40 finance, accounts and commercial staff.\nDrive ownership culture, accountability and performance discipline.\nAct as finance anchor for Plant Head and corporate finance.\n2️⃣ Financial Accounting & Closure\nEnsure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial closure.\nOversee plant books of accounts, provisions, accruals and reconciliations.\nEnsure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.\nMonitor plant P&L, cost sheets and profitability metrics.\n3️⃣ Costing & MIS\nLead product costing, process costing and variance analysis.\nDrive detailed MIS reporting for production, conversion cost and yield analysis.\nProvide actionable cost insights to plant operations.\nMonitor cost drivers — raw material, power, fuel, consumables and overheads.\n4️⃣ Budgeting & Financial Planning\nLead annual budget and periodic forecast for plant operations.\nTrack budget vs actual and drive corrective actions.\nSupport capex evaluation and financial viability analysis.\nMonitor working capital and cash flow at plant level.\n5️⃣ Internal Controls & Governance\nEstablish and enforce strong internal financial controls.\nEnsure SOP compliance across finance and commercial processes.\nStrengthen audit readiness and documentation standards.\nDrive zero-leakage control environment.\n6️⃣ Statutory Compliance & Tax Coordination\nEnsure compliance with GST, Income Tax, TDS and other statutory requirements.\nCoordinate with corporate tax and audit teams.\nSupport statutory, internal and cost audits.\nEnsure timely return filing and assessments support.\n7️⃣ Working Capital & Treasury Interface\nMonitor receivables, payables and inventory from finance lens.\nDrive working capital efficiency initiatives.\nCoordinate with HO treasury for fund planning and utilization.\nControl credit exposure and advances.\n8️⃣ Plant Commercial Finance Support\nProvide financial oversight on procurement, stores, contracts and dispatch transactions.\nValidate major commercial proposals and rate contracts.\nSupport negotiation with financial analytics.\n9️⃣ Systems & Process Excellence\nEnsure strong ERP discipline (SAP preferred).\nImprove process automation and reporting efficiency.\nStandardize finance processes across plant departments.\nCandidate Profile\n\nExperienc\ne15 years in plant finance & accounts roles\n.Must have worked in: Iron & Steel Manufacturing / Metal Industry / Large Building Materials / Heavy Manufacturing\n.Experience handling large integrated plant finance operations\n\n.\nLeadership & Behavioural Competenci\nesStrong personality with command and credibilit\ny.High ownership and decision-making abilit\ny.Firm, process-driven and control-oriente\nd.Excellent leadership and team handling capabilit\ny.Ability to drive discipline and performanc\ne.Strong cross-functional coordination skill\ns.Key KR\nAsTimely and accurate plant financial closur\ne.Cost control and variance reductio\nn.Audit and compliance score\ns.Budget adherenc\ne.Working capital improvemen\nt.Internal control effectivenes\ns.Team productivity and retentio\nn.MIS accuracy and timelines\n\ns.
