Job Description

The IT Specialist Cloud Services, Global, is responsible for supporting the delivery, optimization, and operational stability of the company’s cloud and on-premises data centre infrastructures. This role encompasses designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing compute, storage, networking, and platform services to ensure they are secure, highly available, cost-effective, and in line with business and technology strategies. Additionally, the position contributes to executing the global cloud and data centre strategy by implementing cloud solutions, supporting ongoing operations, ensuring platform reliability, and collaborating with both global and regional IT teams.\n\nThe IT specialist brings deep technical expertise across hybrid cloud environments, acting as a subject-matter expert for cloud platforms (such as Azure and AWS) and data centre technologies to ensure seamless integration, reliable operations, and compliance with security standards.

This role oversees the technical execution and daily operations of assigned IT services supporting migrations, automation, capacity planning, performance optimization, cost optimization, and security improvements while managing incidents, problems, changes, and service requests. The IT specialist monitors technical performance supporting continuous service improvement, enhancing security and compliance through engineering and automation initiatives.\n\nKey stakeholders for the IT Specialist include service owners, service managers, process managers, provider managers, regional delivery leads, other IT functions (i.e., SD, I&A, and IT security), and external partners to deliver consistent and effective Global IT services\n\nHybrid Cloud Operations\nSupport delivery, configuration, and ongoing operations of a hybrid cloud environment that integrates on-premises data center infrastructure (private cloud) with public cloud services such as Azure & AWS.\nSupport the design, deployment, and maintenance of cloud services across Azure, AWS, or other enterprise cloud platforms.\nManage virtual machines, storage, networking, security groups, and resource configurations.\nOptimize cloud consumption and costs through governance, tagging, rightsizing, and automation.\nImplement and maintain cloud backup, disaster recovery, and support for business continuity.\nOversee on‑premises compute, storage, and network environments (VMware, Hyper‑V, SAN/NAS, etc.).\nMonitor data center capacity, performance, and health to maintain high availability.\nManage physical infrastructure where applicable: racks, power, cooling, cabling, hardware lifecycle.\nCoordinate upgrades, patching, firmware updates, and lifecycle refresh activities.\nSupport hybrid architectures, ensuring seamless integration between cloud and on‑prem systems.\nManage hybrid cloud-related connectivity solutions (VPN, ExpressRoute, SD‑WAN) and hybrid identity.\nImplement hybrid management tools (e.g., Azure Arc, VMware Cloud, monitoring platforms).\nMonitor health, performance, and utilization of metrics for computing, storage, backup, and network systems in premise data centers, proactively identifying risks or opportunities for improvement.\nMaintain and improve operational runbooks, deployment procedures, and platform documentation to ensure accuracy and repeatability.\nConduct technical troubleshooting and deep-dive root cause analysis for incidents affecting either cloud services or on-premises infrastructure, ensuring rapid and coordinated recovery.\nUnderstanding cloud cost drivers and ability to perform cost analysis and optimization.\n\nHybrid Cloud Projects & Change Implementation\nContribute to infrastructure modernization initiatives—including cloud migrations, datacenter consolidation, platform refresh cycles, and hybrid cloud implementations\nImplement and monitor approved changes across cloud and data center platforms in alignment with architecture designs and security/compliance requirements.\nPartner with architects and engineering teams to validate solution designs, identify operational considerations, and support successful deployment.\nParticipate in automation and orchestration initiatives that reduce manual effort and improve consistency across hybrid environments\nAssist with environment testing, pilot deployments, and transition to operations activities for new or enhanced services.\n\nHybrid Cloud Governance, Security & Compliance\nApply global governance frameworks, security baselines, and configuration standards consistently across cloud and on-premise platforms.\nSupport security assessments, vulnerability remediation, patch compliance tracking, and infrastructure hardening activities in both cloud and physical data center environments.\nWork with Security GRC to enforce identity, access controls, logging/monitoring requirements, and audit readiness across hybrid infrastructure.\nEnsure adherence to corporate policies related to data protection, backup retention, infrastructure segmentation, and privileged access.\n\nStakeholder & Partner Collaboration\nCollaborate with regional IT teams, application owners, and service managers to understand requirements and deliver infrastructure services that meet business needs.\nCoordinate with global managed service providers, cloud vendors, and data center partners to resolve complex infrastructure issues and maintain service stability.\nProvide insights into hybrid infrastructure performance, risks, and opportunities to support planning and decision‑making.\nCommunicate technical topics clearly to stakeholders with varying degrees of technical knowledge.\n\nDocumentation & Knowledge Sharing\nCreate and maintain updated documentation covering hybrid cloud environments, including topology diagrams, runbooks, SOPs, service catalogs, and recovery procedures.\nShare best practices and technical knowledge with global peers to ensure uniform operations and smooth adoption
