Position Details

Job Title: Assistant Manager – Indirect Procurement

Experience: 5–7 Years

Location: Ambernath Facility

Industry Preference: Pharma Industry


Role Summary

Responsible for managing procurement activities related to indirect spend, including OPEX, engineering goods & services, MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations), and small CAPEX .

Ensures efficient sourcing, cost optimization, vendor management, and compliance with company policies.


Key Responsibilities

  • Procurement of OPEX items such as consumables, utilities, and services.
  • Sourcing and procurement of engineering goods and technical services.
  • Handling MRO procurement ensuring timely availability of materials.
  • Managing procurement of small CAPEX projects.
  • Vendor identification, evaluation, onboarding, and development.
  • Negotiating pricing, contracts, and service agreements to achieve cost savings.
  • Ensuring compliance with procurement policies and audit requirements.
  • Managing RFQs, bid comparisons, and PO creation.
  • Coordinating with internal stakeholders like Engineering, Maintenance, QA, and Finance.
  • Monitoring supplier performance and driving continuous improvement.
  • Maintaining procurement documentation and MIS reporting.
  • Ensuring adherence to quality and regulatory standards (GMP compliance for pharma).


Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Good understanding of indirect procurement categories.
  • Knowledge of SAP or ERP systems preferred.
  • Analytical and cost optimization skills.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Understanding of compliance and audit processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.


Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Commerce / Supply Chain Management.

MBA in Supply Chain / Operations preferred.


Preferred Experience

Experience in pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing industry.

Knowledge of GMP norms and industry compliance standards.

Exposure to engineering procurement and MRO purchasing.
