Key Responsibilities
Workflow Design & Automation
- Design and implement BPMN 2.0 workflows in Collibra for:
- Business glossary curation & approval
- Data ownership & stewardship onboarding
- Policy/standard lifecycle & attestation
- Data quality issue management & remediation SLAs
- Dataset certification, rule exceptions, and waiver workflows
- Build user tasks, service tasks, timers, gateways , escalation paths, and SLA/notification rules.
- Implement task forms , UI elements, and custom validations for steward-friendly experiences.
Platform Configuration & Development
- Configure and extend Collibra operating models (domains, asset types, attributes, relationships).
- Build workflow scripts (Java/Groovy/Python where applicable) and REST API calls to manipulate assets, relations, responsibilities, communities, and tags.
- Develop metadata onboarding automations and lineage triggers; schedule jobs for recurring governance actions.
- Create reusable workflow templates and configuration libraries for consistent rollout across domains.
Integration & Data Exchange
- Integrate Collibra with enterprise tools:
- ETL/ELT & Catalog/Lineage : Glue, Informatica/IICS, Talend, dbt, Kafka
- ITSM/Work Management : ServiceNow, Jira (bi‑directional status sync)
- Identity & Security : SSO (SAML/OIDC), LDAP/AD, RBAC automation
- Cloud Data Platforms : AWS (S3, Glue Catalog, Redshift), Snowflake, BigQuery, Azure
- Implement contract-first API integrations, webhooks, and event/notification patterns (email, Slack/Teams).
Quality, Observability & Reliability
- Establish workflow testing (unit/sandbox), peer reviews, and promotion between environments.
- Implement observability : workflow metrics, task backlog health, SLA breach alerts, and audit logs .
- Optimize performance: reduce long-running transactions, handle concurrency, and tune polling/async behaviors.
- Maintain version control , change logs, and deployment runbooks.
Governance & Stakeholder Enablement
- Translate governance policies and RACI models into automated operating procedures .
- Partner with Data Stewards, Owners, Custodians, DQ leads to iterate on process design.
- Run training and playbacks , produce end‑user guides, and create FAQ/runbooks .
- Contribute to governance maturity uplift roadmap and adoption KPIs.
Required Qualifications
- 4–7+ years overall in data management/engineering or platform automation; 2–3+ years dedicated to Collibra workflows and configuration.
- Hands-on experience with BPMN 2.0 workflow development (Collibra’s workflow engine; experience with Camunda/Activiti is a plus).
- Strong proficiency with Collibra REST APIs , asset modeling, responsibilities, and community/role management.
- Scripting/programming skills: Java (preferred), Groovy , or Python for workflow service tasks and utilities.
- Experience with metadata/lineage concepts and automations; comfort with JSON, XML, CSV.
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices, Git, environment promotion, and secure secrets handling.
- Solid understanding of data governance , business glossary , policy/standards , and data quality processes.
