Operations Manager
Job Description
Tigers Wings is looking for an experienced Operations Manager with a strong background in running and scaling an aviation institute, pilot training academy, aviation education business, or similar training-led organization.
The person will be responsible for managing day-to-day institute operations, defining and improving the curriculum, aligning trainers and faculty, driving student admissions, building institutional partnerships, and owning the P&L of the business.
The role will cover multiple aviation training verticals, including pilot training pathways, cabin crew training, aviation ground staff training, aircraft maintenance training, airport operations, aviation management, and international aviation career programs .
The key objective is to scale student admissions from 100 students to 1,000 students over the next 2 years .
Key Responsibilities
Institute Operations & P&L Ownership
Manage the overall operations of the aviation institute, including admissions, training delivery, trainer coordination, student experience, compliance, budgeting, revenue growth, and profitability.
The Operations Manager will be expected to run the institute as an independent business unit and ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual targets are achieved.
Curriculum Development
Define, structure, and continuously improve aviation training programs across multiple verticals, including:
- Pilot foundation and pilot pathway programs
- Cabin crew training
- Aviation ground staff training
- Aircraft maintenance training
- Airport operations
- Aviation management
- Ground school preparation
- Soft skills, grooming, communication, and interview preparation
- International pilot training and aviation career pathway modules
The curriculum should be industry-aligned, practical, scalable, and suitable for students pursuing domestic and international aviation careers.
Trainer & Faculty Management
Identify, onboard, align, and manage trainers, aviation consultants, guest faculty, ex-pilots, cabin crew professionals, airport operations experts, aircraft maintenance professionals, airline professionals, and subject matter experts.
Ensure consistent training quality, trainer availability, structured class delivery, student feedback tracking, and continuous improvement.
Partnerships with Colleges & Universities
Build tie-ups with colleges, universities, aviation departments, skill-development institutions, and educational groups to create strong student acquisition channels.
The role includes conducting presentations, seminars, workshops, aviation career awareness programs, and institutional MoUs.
International Aviation Partnerships
Establish partnerships with international aviation schools, pilot training institutes, flying academies, aircraft maintenance training organizations, and aviation pathway providers.
The candidate should be able to create international training pathways for students, including foundation training in India followed by advanced training abroad.
Business Expansion & Student Admissions
Develop and execute a growth plan to increase student admissions from 100 to 1,000 within 24 months .
This includes building sales channels, referral networks, campus partnerships, consultant networks, digital campaigns, aviation seminars, student counselling systems, and aviation career awareness programs.
Industry Networking
Build and maintain a strong network with aviation consultants, pilot training academies, airlines, cabin crew training providers, ground handling companies, aircraft maintenance organizations, overseas aviation institutes, education agents, career counsellors, aviation clubs, and industry bodies.
Represent Tigers Wings at aviation events, education fairs, seminars, college events, and partnership meetings.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should have experience in:
- Running or managing an aviation institute, pilot training academy, flying school, or aviation education business.
- Building and managing aviation training programs across pilot training, cabin crew, ground staff, aircraft maintenance, and airport operations.
- Curriculum planning, trainer management, student counselling, and quality control.
- Building partnerships with colleges, universities, aviation academies, and training institutions.
- Developing international aviation training tie-ups and student pathway programs.
- Handling revenue targets, budgets, sales growth, and P&L.
- Scaling student admissions and building strong institutional sales channels.
- Networking with aviation consultants, airline professionals, training providers, and overseas aviation institutes
