Digital Solutions & Industry 4.0 Implementation\nTechnology Roadmap Development:\nArchitect and deploy digital transformation strategies integrating ERP, MES, APC (Advanced Process Control), QCS (Quality Control Systems), and supply chain systems .\nAdvanced Analytics & Process Control:\nImplement AI/ML-driven process optimization for pulping, bleaching control, paper machine stability, predictive maintenance, and quality deviation minimization.\nIoT & Sensor Integration:\nDeploy real-time monitoring systems for consistency, moisture, basis weight, pressure, temperature, and equipment health across pulp and paper operations.\nDigital Twin & Simulation:\nLeverage digital twins for process simulation, bottleneck identification, and scenario-based optimization across fiberline, paper machines, and utilities.\nData-Driven Decision Making:\nEnable real-time dashboards and KPIs for production, quality, energy, and sustainability metrics to support continuous improvement.\n\n3. Consulting & Advisory Services\nDiagnostic Assessments:\nConduct detailed mill diagnostics, benchmarking studies, gap analyses, and maturity assessments to identify operational and digital improvement opportunities.\nSolution Design & Business Case Development:\nDesign targeted solutions for cost reduction, yield improvement, capacity expansion, and digital adoption , supported by strong ROI and risk assessments.\nChange Management & Stakeholder Engagement:\nLead cross-functional transformation initiatives involving operations, maintenance, quality, IT, procurement, and leadership teams .\nProject Management & Delivery:\nDeliver end-to-end consulting engagements ensuring adherence to scope, timelines, budgets, and quality standards .\nCapability Building & Training:\nDevelop SOPs, training programs, and knowledge transfer frameworks to enable sustainable improvements.\n\n4. Supply Chain & Logistics Optimization\nRaw Material & Fiber Supply Optimization:\nImprove procurement and handling of wood, recycled fiber, and chemicals , including supplier management and cost optimization.\nInventory & Production Planning:\nEnhance inventory control, production scheduling, and demand planning using APS and analytics tools.\nDistribution & Logistics:\nOptimize finished goods handling, warehousing, and distribution networks to improve service levels and reduce costs.\nSupply Chain Digitalization:\nImplement platforms for end-to-end visibility and real-time tracking across the value chain\n\n5.
Safety, Compliance & Risk Management (Optional)\nSafety Excellence:\nStrengthen process safety, occupational health standards, and hazard prevention , especially in high-risk areas such as recovery boilers and chemical handling.\nEnvironmental Compliance:\nEnsure adherence to environmental norms including effluent discharge, air emissions, odor control, and waste management .\nRisk Mitigation:\nIdentify operational and environmental risks and define mitigation strategies and business continuity plans.\n\nRequired Skills & Competencies\nPaper & Pulp Process Knowledge:\nStrong understanding of kraft/mechanical pulping, bleaching chemistry, fiber properties, paper machine operations, coating technologies, and finishing processes.\nUtilities & Chemical Recovery Systems:\nExpertise in recovery cycle (black liquor, recovery boiler, causticizing), steam/power generation, and water systems.\nDigital & IT Systems:\nExperience with ERP (SAP, Oracle), MES, DCS/SCADA (ABB, Valmet, Siemens), QCS, and advanced analytics platforms.\nData Analytics & AI:\nHands-on exposure to predictive maintenance, yield optimization models, and process analytics.\n\nConsulting & Business Skills\nStrategic thinking and ability to link operations with business outcomes\nStrong financial modeling, ROI, and capital project evaluation capabilities\nExcellent stakeholder management across all organizational levels\nProven change management and transformation leadership\n\nSoft Skills\nExcellent communication and presentation skills\nStrong collaboration and cross-cultural teamwork ability\nAdaptability in dynamic environments\nHigh ethical standards and professionalism\n\nExperience Requirements\n10–15 years of progressive experience in:\nPaper & pulp manufacturing (production, process engineering, technical services) – Must have\nIndustrial consulting in pulp & paper sector – Good to have\nDigital transformation in process industries – Must have\nDemonstrated success in delivering process improvements, cost savings, efficiency gains, or digital transformation initiatives in pulp & paper mills.\nMulti-site/global exposure preferred.\n\nEducational Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree (mandatory) in Chemical, Mechanical, Paper Technology, or Industrial Engineering\nMaster’s degree (preferred) in MBA, Engineering Management, or related field\n\nKey Performance Indicators (KPIs)\nOperational Efficiency: Improvements in yield, OEE, energy/water usage, and cost reduction\nDigital Adoption: Successful deployment of Industry 4.0 and analytics solutions with measurable ROI\nQuality Improvement: Enhanced product consistency and reduced variability\nClient Satisfaction: High NPS and repeat engagements\nCapability Development: Effective knowledge transfer and sustainable process improvements\n\nWorking\nLocation: India (Pune / Noida preferred)\nTravel: Domestic and international travel required\nVisa: US B1/B2 (Preferred)
