Position: Contracts Specialist – Civil & Construction
Experience: 10+ years
Must Have Skills:
Own and execute end-to-end contract administration for construction projects, including contract drafting, review, negotiation, compliance monitoring, and risk mitigation. Ensure alignment of contractual terms with project objectives while maintaining strict adherence to legal and regulatory requirements. Drive efficient contract lifecycle management through strong coordination with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
What You Should Bring
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s or MBA preferred)
• 10+ years of experience in construction contract management
• Experience in US construction contracts (5+ years preferred)
• Strong knowledge of AIA, FIDIC, EPC, and related contract frameworks
• Proficiency in contract law, construction codes, and documentation
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Experience in cost estimation, claims management, and change orders
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication, coordination, and organizational abilities
• High attention to detail and ability to manage timelines effectively
About the Role
The Contracts Specialist – Civil & Construction will be responsible for managing and strengthening contract administration processes across construction and infrastructure projects. This role plays a critical part in ensuring legally compliant, risk-mitigated, and performance-driven contracts.
The position requires close collaboration with project managers, engineering, procurement, and legal teams to ensure contractual obligations are clearly defined, monitored, and executed successfully. The role also supports dispute resolution, claims management, and overall contract lifecycle governance.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Management & Administration
• Prepare, review, and negotiate EPC, subcontractor, supplier, and consultancy contracts
• Ensure contracts comply with legal, regulatory, and organizational requirements
• Interpret contract terms and align them with project deliverables and schedules
Risk & Compliance Management
• Identify contractual risks and develop mitigation strategies
• Ensure adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements within construction contracts
• Monitor compliance with contract clauses, obligations, and timelines
Project Coordination
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, procurement, and legal teams
• Align contract terms with project goals and execution strategies
• Support resolution of contract disputes, claims, and variations
Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain comprehensive records of contracts, amendments, and correspondence
• Track contract deliverables, milestones, and validity periods
• Generate reports on contract status, risks, compliance, and financial impact
Stakeholder Management
• Liaise with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure clarity of contractual terms
• Support pre-award and post-award contract activities
• Ensure all contractual deliverables are met and documented.
