About the Company : The Director of the Liberal Arts and Humanities must successfully engage and work well with faculty, staff, students, fellow administrators, and community members in building a vision for the institute that emphasizes academic excellence. The Director is the senior academic and administrative person of the Institute and is responsible for its operational and financial success. The Director should possess a record of academic administrative and teaching excellence, multi-disciplinary collaboration, and inclusive decision-making.

The ideal person for this job is expected to offer the collaborative leadership needed to enhance the student-centered education that the University is committed to provide.\n\nAbout the Role : As the Academic and Administrative officer for the University of Arts and Humanities, the Director reports directly to the Executive Director of Liberal Arts and Humanities and will be responsible for the strategic, programmatic, and financial operations of the Institute.\n\nResponsibilities :\n\nThe Director of Institute of Liberal Arts & Humanities will lead and administer all aspects of the Institute including the design, delivery, staffing, administrative support, supervision and evaluation of division programs, and support staff, as well as student enrolment, progress, and discipline, and all related records and reports.\nCommitted to the scholarly life of the Faculty and to excellence, equity, diversity and inclusion, the Executive Director will play a major role in the achievement of University goals and objectives.\nThe Director will be expected to stimulate and support excellence and integrity in teaching, learning, research and University service, and foster a climate that encourages faculty, staff and students to identify and pursue innovation in these activities.\nReviews and approves Division curriculum development proposals, course outlines, program changes, textbook recommendations, field trip requests, credit by examination requests, and program requirement waivers.\nLead the academic planning process of the Faculty by initiating discussions, defining priorities, and developing and articulating its vision.\nInitiate and oversee activities designed to improve teaching skills within the Faculty and ensure that teaching methods are state-of-the-art.\nPromote the research activities of Management faculty members and ensure that their contributions are known and celebrated within the University and the broader community.\nEnsure effective communication and engagement with students, faculty and staff members.\nDevelop, manage and ensure effective administration and accountability of the Faculty's budget and resources and support, regularly assess and ensure effective Faculty governance.\nTo promote Consultancy and supervise the University team to deliver the projects assigned.\nEnsure appropriate and efficient organization and assignment of staff responsibilities, effective management, commitment to staff development and administration of collective agreements and personnel policies.\n\nQualifications :\n\nPhD, Doctoral Qualification or Professorship with 15+ years of experience.\nBackgrounds typically from Social Sciences - Psychology, Political Science, Sociology, International Relations are preferred.\nPostgraduate qualification in a relevant branch of Liberal Arts.\nMembership of appropriate academic and professional networks.\nNetworking with think-tanks/NGO/wellbeing societies.\nWorked on a project with funding from Government/ Corporate.\nSignificant experience in a higher education institution involving teaching, curriculum management and development, research or consultancy or related income generation activities.\nEvidence of effective strategic planning and implementation together with experience in a leadership and management role.\nEvidence of successful academic leadership.
