Position: Technical Assistant – Video (With 5+ yrs of Experience)\nDepartment: Technical & Film Production Support\nInstitute: MIT School of Film & Television\nEducation: Graduate or Master’s degree\nExperience: Combined technical and creative video expertise\n\nWe are seeking a skilled and proactive ' Technical Assistant / Demonstrator – Video ' to support our film school's technical operations and student projects.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nStudent & Project Support\nGuide students through post-production workflows.\nTroubleshoot technical issues during student exercises.\nSupport practical classroom video demonstrations.\nMaintain creative and technical standard alignment.\n\nVideo Editing & Application Management\nManage non-linear editing (NLE) software systems.\nOversee Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, or Avid.\nAssist with multi-cam setups and sync pipelines.\nProvide basic software troubleshooting for users.\n\nTranscoding & Asset Management\nExecute video transcoding across diverse formats.\nManage codecs, bitrates, and file containers.\nOptimize media files for editing performance.\nOversee archiving and digital asset ingestion.\n\nHardware & Studio Maintenance\nMaintain post-production workstations and hardware peripherals.\nCalibrate video monitors and color-grading suites.\nManage local storage, shared networks, and servers.\nReport equipment faults to IT infrastructure teams.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nEducation & Experience\nGraduate or Master's degree in Video, Media, or IT.\nPortfolio demonstrating creative post-production work.\n\nTechnical Skills\nProficiency in Premiere, DaVinci, or Avid.\nDeep knowledge of ProRes, H.264, and DNxHR.\nUnderstanding of storage systems like NAS or SAN.\nMastery of frame rates, resolutions, and aspect ratios.\n\nSoft Skills\nStrong patience for mentoring student filmmakers.\nClear communication skills for technical concepts.\nProblem-solving mindset under tight production deadlines.\n\nHow to Apply:\nInterested candidates should send their updated CVs to with Subject line : Application for Technical Assistant / Demonstrator - Video
